apparently someone got my card # and was trying to use it...the charges were coming from the UK for $1.00 and $100 for the March of Dimes...the CSR told me that they usually try to charge it through a charity, due to thinking the credit card company will let it pass through. they said the thieves kept messing up the 3 digit security code on the back.
i told Cap One that we use the card for everything...hell, if i could pay my house payment with it i would for the 1% back, so he is going to expedite my card to me overnight...not sure how all you feel about Cap One but their customer service rocks imo!
when he said $1.00, i told him that my wife and i dont belong to any porn sites...so hopefully it didnt come from one of them.

It was probably Obama. My grandmother is convinced Obama is stealing her oil royalty checks. I try to explain to her it's because the company isn't drilling on the family farm right now but she's convinced.

My wife's card got stolen too, but I told Capital One to just let the thieves keep it, they were spending less than she did.

I had two accounts with them that I closed because after being a customer for about 10 years, never paying the bill late etc.. they said they were gonna almost double the interest rate.
Would never do business with them again. Same with BOA.

Capital One is one of the most predatory lenders out there, I'd avoid them.
I had one of my cards compromised last week as well. I wonder if this is a result of the massive hack recently where a processing company had millions of accounts taken?
One tip is to always have multiple cards available. If you only have one card and you use it for everything, you are screwed if it gets stolen. There are plenty of cards out there with 1% (or more) cash back so you should have your pick.
Chase is currently offering $300 cash back when you spend $500 in the first three months. Other banks have similar deals all the time. If you pay it off every month, it is free money.

Here's a link to the info, though it may be dead. There are plenty of others, though.
