I'm not sure I buy Mithan's "I just want to keep the community together!" shtick.
I'm questioning of IGN's "free labor" rule of only bringing in volunteer mods. Moderators for major sites like this should be paid. Tricking people into working for free and having such lofty requirements in doing so is iffy stuff.

Volunteer moderators deserve only heaping spoonfuls of scorn and disdain. They're like the Sonderkommando, except worse because they're not getting anything out of it except power over others.
