I don't know wtf it got in a fight with, but the back of its right ear is torn up pretty good.

It looks like he was doing the swivel-ear thing they do when they're in a fight (the ears turn around and then flatten against the skull) but that the other animal (presumably, another cat?) bit the crap out of it.

The worst of the damage is actually about midway from the base to the tip of the ear, in the middle rather than on one of the sides.
