The problem with today's in game currency is this. What is used as fodder today gets changed by Turbine when they change and introduce new things. Plats, Shards, sing Keys, kithless feathers, Mmds, Mana scarabs, pristine shards, just to name a few more recent ones. We as a user based group will always look to increase our net value in game. Some of us have a knack for it some don't. Turbine is always looking to introduce new VALUE items to keep the richer from getting richer so to speak. If the loot system was to remain the same so then the value system would as well. But to keep the field somewhat even they change it as often as needed. Of course this is all my opinion and may be completely off base. But then its my nickles worth.

The only problem with the loot system staying the same in AC is that since items never wear out, over time more and more top items get found and the value drops. Look at Epic imbued trinkets. A year ago, an Epic Acid Ward trinket with an imbue landed on it could command 2000+. Now you are lucky to get 300.

The only way to keep an economy going in a game like AC is to keep upping the ante with new and better stuff. The average player usually hates new loot tiers at first, since they just FINALLY caught up to everyone else on the old tier and now they have to play catch-up for the next year or two again. But the alternative is that everyone has most of what they need, and no one buys stuff anymore. Dying economy.

I completely agree. Keeping 1 item as currency won't work over time. It does need a change to UP the ante.

Only if they add weight back to pyreals. I remember the glory days of my mage friends asking me to cash a D note because they couldn't carry that much burden. Good times.

Yes, that was 666 posts per day on average, and yes, that was intentional.
