so a 3rd party site said 1 thing but the official site said another,

They told people on Mordred as well that the cards would last for ever as we asked that question due to closed accounts. Supposedly a NPC in the throne room would except them...

And be greeted with a 'banned' mail in your inbox... remember, Mythic while very lax in a lot of things, isn't that lax when it comes to banning people for exploiting game bugs related to items. If you knowingly abuse an item bug, don't come crying when you get banned.

They respawned the NPCs due to an email I sent. It seems Dred had its auction on
Monday and they removed the NPC the next day when the blue servers NPCs went away.
The dev had stated we got 3 days and we didn't get 2. Then they left them in game...

This is not true. In Gaheris he said once the quartermasters were gone from their live auction location they would be in the main cities. Time limit was not stated.
Below is some old thread about this on Ywain boards, so I'm not the only one thinking there was nothing clearly stating that the proxy cards would be unusable after 48 hours, 3 days or whatever the hell people think they saw. A lot of disinformation and silly ranting about plat when it comes to this subject, which tends to obscure the truth that some people were not aware they were throwing their in game money away. The fact is Mythic as a business should have clearly posted along with the announcement of the auction, the terms of how it was going to work out, this was not done.

I don't know what can be done, but it surely seems like Mythic really didn't have good intentions with how this was handled. If only something legal could be done like reporting them to the BBB or some class action lawsuit. I've heard of a lot of people being burned by this one.

Mythic should just allow people to buy plat from them instead of the Chinese farmers. At some point in time, you just have to accept the fact that people are GOING to buy in game money, and there is little they can do to stop it. They might as well be the ones making the money instead of the Chinese. That also allows them to control the market as the plat will only go at the Rate that Mythic would charge or less, while reducing the ability for a player to get scammed, frustrated and quit.

CCP makers of EVE Online found a nice solution for that issue imho... people can buy gametime from CCP and sell it as an item in-game.. that way they short cut the external parties doing real money transfers.. and both the ingame seller and buyer get what they want.. so does CCP.

What they do in Eve is pretty neat, but it doesn't rid the game from goldsellers. In Eve u can still buy ingame currency from chinese farmers cheaper than ccp's solution. If Mythic were to sell Plat directly the gold sellers would undercut them and prices on items would most likely go up. Its not really as simple as u make it sound.

Thanks to all those busy developers and prgrammers in the cubicle farm infernal auction proxy cards are now being accepted by Quartermaster Mills in the throne room.
