1) PvP environment allows you to kill anyone anywhere AND talk S$@) without having to switch realms.


2) PvE on Mordred is easier than any other server, except maybe Gaheris…

a. /Free level to 40

b. Access to all the best PvE spots in any realm

c. Necromancer, Mentalist, Animist and a Buffer is a great combination on Mordred to XP or do epic encounters with

d. Animist bombers mixed with the necro setup above on Mordred is an insane PvE combo.

e. Scales, Glass and BP’s are easier to get on Mordred than anywhere else no exceptions. Get 8 players/bots w/e and go claim some keeps. Let them get red and then go take them your selves. 32 keys will drop and is random what you will get but one key can give 200 scaless and 400 glass, you could get a Token of Heroism worth 200 BP’s and of course you could get a few lame potions, stones etc. Overall youw ill come out with tons of Scales/Glass with no farming effort. Templates requiring 3k+ scales are quick to get like this.

f. ML10 weapons are pretty easy using the above necromancer combo. The ML10 weapon exchanger is very very handy to switch weapons from one realm to another realm.


3) Don’t like NF or the zergs? No problem on Mordred.


4) Keep battles on Mordred are more fun than on ywain. Takes longer and is more enjoyable then a 100 man zerg on a keep. If you win you will get some keys un-like Ywain.


5) Small scale fights can be setup much easier and safer.


6) Yes you will have the A$$ hats on Mordred and YES they are very easy to deal. Leaving the zones makes them angrier than anything and I find they leave or log after a few minutes.


7) Grey ganking is a non-factor if you /lvl 40. Avoid the PvP hot spots unless you want to die. Use the teleporter’s that make travel easier and quicker than Ywain. Lots of ways to avoid being killed pre-50.


8) The /gc invite trick! You need the ability to /gc invite on Mordred. You can find people to gank or you can avoid being ganked with this command. Know someone is hunting you? Just /gc invite them to see if they are in the zone.


9) NO Chinese farmers…


10) Getting your crafting needs met can be a challenge but I have found most people on Mordred would help out, some won’t most will if they can when they can.


11) Many more places to fight makes the PvP environment more dynamic IMO.


Mordred is a dead server, community ruined it etc etc etc… It was the best gaming experience I ever had in DAoC. The elitism attitudes that the best have the best loot/templates etc is dead IMO. With the ease of scales/glass on Mordred it is trivial to have the best templates around and making the templates is so easy.


We rolled a full group on Ywain a couple weeks ago and the fun is nothing compared to what it was on Mordred, even 6 months ago Mordred was "fun".


I logged on to Mordred today and got asked a few questions some new guy didn't know. Just figured someday somewhere some of this information might help some one wanting to try Mordred!

I liked Mordred too, I didn't play for long, but it was proly my favorite overall. But all of your arguments are basically that Mordred is easymode and that's why people should play there. Well I just like it because PvP is a lot more dynamic, easier to find, and more fun.

Question though, how many people are playing Mordred these days, now that the Herald doesn't say?

Sort of the point I was trying to get a cross, even a new player can get 50 and templated quickly and easily.

My years spent on Mordred were hands down the best gaming experiences I've ever had in any game, EVER.

That being said. Stop trying to revive a dead server on a dead game. It's over. The lucky few got to play Mordred and appreciate it for what it was, and everyone else missed out and will honestly never know what people like you are talking about every time these posts crop up on VNs.

Open origins and open a new pvp server and watch da money roll in,mythic is retarded...bla bla bla about a population split,its like saying a new type of dvd(blue ray) would instantly obslete dvd's,incorrect!!

You know, I used to be horribly against the idea of origins, but now that I haven't played DAoC in several months I'm beginning to warm up to the idea. I'd want new xp/regen rates though, as well as some of the other changes that were actually... you know... good for the game.

Also give back the old gravity, or at least change the jump animation so it doesn't look so retarded.

I played on andred, when are they bringing it back? J/k, I quit shortly after the merge with mordred tho I had a blast on andred til it died over night. If I come back and play It will be on my Inf on mordred tho Im not sure i will yet.
