I have a toon that I need to rename and everytime I try it crashes my game. Does DAOC have email support anymore? I don't really want to sit in /appeal for hours.

In the meantime, you might want to delete the charactername.ign file associated with that character.

The *.ign files seem to just store window positioning data, since your problem is character specific it could be a corrupted character data file. So I'd delete or just rename if you feel safer. The charactername.ini is the one you don't really want to delete as it has configuration data, hotbars, and such.

I'll try that thanks. I don't think it will help, but why not. It crashes at the re-name screen as I backspace out the symbols they put at the end of the name that needs changing.
Strange bug. Happened on two toons with real long names. None of the many many other toons I transfered had a problem.

i haven't dealt with the rename feature and I doubt this would work but is it possible to write the name in notepad, cut it, then ctr+v (paste) it in there?

No seems the only thing you can do in that screen is backspace the added characters until they are removed, but I can't get past the 2nd one without a crash.
I think Mythic is going to have to change it.

Ah, I thought it might have been crashing after renaming and trying to login. Yeah hopefully they can help out with that over email.
And good lord Cydoc, that icon scares me!
