Late Night/Early Morning Performance Issues on Ywain |
Recently, many players have been experiencing some adverse play conditions on Ywain when playing late night/early morning North American time.
The issues players have been experiencing on Ywain between the hours of 4:00 AM EDT and 10:00 AM EDT (ish) are caused in part by our daily character backup process. Because Ywain is constantly populated almost 24/7, there's very little of what we consider "off peak" times for these backups to run optimally. Obviously, protecting your character data is our top priority, so we have been approaching this issue methodically and with much caution and care.
As of last night at 4:30 AM EDT we have implemented improvements aimed at streamlining this process while at the same time maintaining the integrity of our character backups, thus protecting precious character information. Please let us know via Herald feedback if you continue to experience the extreme circumstances previously experienced during this daily maintenance window.

Andy THANK YOU for addressing this problem, i had thought that is MAY have been something like this as MOST americans aren't playing at 4am.

Thats pretty cool, I wonder if this will fix the "Service Not Available" when an account is already logged in.
When it should be displaying "The account is already logged in." message.

Last couple of days have been an ordeal to try and get in the game.. game loads fine, but you always get thrown to the character screen. Nice to know the issue has been located and hopefully the change will resolve this.
(wonder if we still get some VN'ers claiming it's our own machine and that they've tried 100 times without having issues  ) |
