Maybe LA nerf was too much, but it was OP. My armsman got raped by zerks and SB's.

I made a dwarf zerk and I was 5 shotting red mobs...logged in after the nerf and that was the end of playing my zerk, lol.

Hey Drax. I think I remember you guys. Thought you were on Percival though..?

I just came back myself a few days ago. The few things I've noticed are:

Population seems pretty damned solid. Not as good as the old days of course but it's nothing like the ghost town I was expectiong it to be. Now, this doesn't count the BGs. I saw some people in Thid but that's about it. I hear there's one more BG that people play a lot. The one that was after Caledonia I think...

Leveling is FAST. That is to be expected but I'm just confirming it.

It will all come back to you eventually. At first I was a little annoyed and my inability to do the simplest things but I'm good now

None of this really answers you questions but I just wanted to say 'hey' and contribute a lil bit.

p.s. 32 is a good age man

LA and smite for sure. Funny thing is that smite was really only overpowered because everyone was noob and ran around with crap resists, if you put old smite back in now there is no way it dominates like it did except for maybe the 30 sec pbae mezz.

Yeah I remember LA that was brutal. Altho in early Thid if you had the crafted gear you could 1 shot casters and stay stealth, lol always thought that was cheesy unless you were playing the assasin.

And to the poster above I also enjoyed Fins for some reason. Actually im one of the few that enjoys the leveling progress. The harder it is the more you enjoy your class once you reach the peak. Games now cater and make things to ez imho. Its all about the time and roaming the landscape and becoming "one" with your character....... Im kidding there but really i think the more time you invest lvling the more you enjoy that character in the long run.

LA wasn't overpowered until Shamans got endurance. Then it was stupid. Then finally after they balanced it, they introduced Savages.

Amazes me that anyone ever thought this game was balanced. It was a lot of fun, but man not because of balance, because of people.

Yea, that was probably the final nail in the coffin for me. I mean yes, even being a Zerk I will admit and be one of the first to agree that LA was OP, especially once the endo regen came in, but most will also agree that it got tuned down WAY too far, especially for zerks. I went on my dwarf zerk from more or less 5 shotting red mobs if I was lucky down to doing far LESS dmg than savages, and hitting a lot slower, with none of the extra tricks that Savages got. It was the dark days indeed.

Speaking of the LA Nerf, I've been looking for a picture that I've been kicking myself for never saving. Does anyone have a link to a copy of the picture where it had a drawing of a bunch of daoc's characters for patch 1.62, and it had a vendo with it's left arm in a sling? I thought that pic was a good representation of 1.62 lol...
