Guys I played from day 1 on release on Guinevere was in Knights Templars if anyone played there. I played all the way thru Toa, left a couple years ago and havent been back since. I check these boards alot however and enjoy the updated posts and responses (it keeps me interested) ...... My question is what has been the biggest single class nerf in the history of daoc? I would say from what I remember the Smite Cleric nerf was brutal back in classic. If anyone remembers far enough back the scout nerf was pretty harsh (tho much deserved), considering you could 1 shot thru hadrins wall

Shield nerf was meh, and some others i recall but what do you all think?

I may be returning soon, tho I loved the solo play in classic which has kept me from returning now.

I keep hoping for a good 3 realm game or Daoc 2, but, knowing nothing will ever compare to the excitement I got from Daoc and the fact im 32 now has been getting me a little depressed

Peace Yall

Not class nerfs but probably biggest nerfs to me were dodger and left axe.

Biggest class nerf would probably be Rangers. Give all their unique abilities to the other archers, halve their offensive output and remove one of their biggest defensive abilities with NO return at first then a minor scrap later. They went from arguably the best stealth class to unarguably the worst overnight.

Unless you can resubscribe with your old account(s)/characters, then you'll most likely hate the game today.

Solo play is not gonna be fun unless you have a LOT of patience and a high RR character.

I, too, have been looking to come back. I played Hib on Morgan Le Fay back in 2002 and walked away because the guild I was in fell apart. I've moved my characters over to Ywain5 but my biggest problems is not having maps. Since the Atlas is almost impossible to find, is there a web site someone that can recommend to get up-to-date maps?

I, probably of the few, actually enjoyed camping at the Fins and helping people level up, get coin, and loot. I truly loved exploring the landscape especially with my level 50 Druid. I enjoy helping people level up. RvR was cool if I could get in a group. I always felt if I could help people level up, get my name out there as being someone that works well in a team and knows my stuff, I could go out and RvR.

I can still remember when my guild helped reclaim a keep and I was a healer for 4 rangers and with my buffs and their own, we did extremely well.

Yeah I remember LA that was brutal. Altho in early Thid if you had the crafted gear you could 1 shot casters and stay stealth, lol always thought that was cheesy unless you were playing the assasin.

And to the poster above I also enjoyed Fins for some reason. Actually im one of the few that enjoys the leveling progress. The harder it is the more you enjoy your class once you reach the peak. Games now cater and make things to ez imho. Its all about the time and roaming the landscape and becoming "one" with your character....... Im kidding there but really i think the more time you invest lvling the more you enjoy that character in the long run.

Old school Guin Mid here, and the LA nerf was probably the biggest, and Im not crying, it was needed

Every class is somewhere on the nerf/overpower continuum and moving in one or the other direction. Biggest nerf probably was LA.

What's kind of more interesting is what simple introduction completely changed the game. Consider the humble speedwarp and it's creation of the extension group.
