In 5 years or more of playing, CSR's have never helped me with anything. And I was never rude to them. I'm shocked to hear they actually restored an item that was sold "by mistake".
I think they have "sorry I can't (won't) do anything about that. Thank you for playing DAOC" on their clipboards.
I'd have to agree with that mostly. No matter how obvious and small the request, the only single time I've ever gotten help was very recently because my character was crashing randomly constantly. Seems to happen a lot now, at least to my Heretic, haven't had it happen on other chars. He just teled me into DF and told me to log in and everything would be fine. So now I zone out of NF before I RvR and back in, and never have the random crashes happen anymore. If I just log into NF and stay there and play, then there's a strong likely hood that I'll crash randomly within the first 15 minutes of play.
Anyway, any other time over 8 years of occasional requests for help with lost items, broken encounters, lots of harassment, even having stuck accounts that couldn't be logged in, you name it and it was always the same lame answer "I can't help you with that you'll need to turn in a feedback form. Anything else I can do for you? No? Thanks for
paying DAoC!"
Happy stupid customer service at it's best. Gotta love it. The good part of it is you basically never hear about CSR abuse cases anymore where they were feeding friends of theirs items & plat, or hand'em out to score with virtual chicks, and end up getting caught. This happened to most if not all MMOs before DAoC's time, but I'm guessing in-game DAoC CSRs simply have no powers, so there is nothing to abuse.
It certainly seems like that's the case.
