You don't have to have seasonal items to make a good template. And, race is not so important that it is a game breaker. I will give you warlocks are still in the game. But, unless you solo or small group they are not much of a deal either.

You have a little work to do if you come back. But, in the grand scheme of things it will not take you long to be ready.

Finding a good guild is the most important thing. With the Herald not working anymore it is harder to figure out which ones are interesting. I have been back for two weeks and that is my biggest issue so far. I would like some ML10 items that may be hard to get, but I will just have a good template for a while until I can get a great one.

I have tons of Albs and lots of resources on Alb. But, I have decided to play Mid only. I have always been a one realm per server kind of person. I still have the "realm pride" problem, that only a few seem to have anymore. So it will probably take me a couple months to be exactly where I want to be. I need to level up some crafters and I need a better farming toon (SM or BD).

PS. If anyone could recommend a friendly large RvR/siege type guild on Mid I would be most appreciative.

There are plenty of ways to play DAOC that don't require a perfect, state of the art template. Don't let that keep you from reactivating.

Check out The Scarlet Knights - A nice large mix of very active players. Very friendly. Sunday is the 'official' guild RvR day, but on any given evening they field at least one full group in RvR. They also have an active PvE and crafting contingent.

How is the buffbot situation currently in DAOC, being thats the only reason I haven't come back and I'm still playing WAR.

Does everyone and their brother have one? Are the NPC buffs anywhere near comparable?

i'd say 3/5 have buff pots.


If you use NPC buffs you'll be down about around 30 attribute points. It's significant enough that I wouldn't solo with it, but if you're in a group or a battle group chances are someone who is relying on you will hook you up. It's really more of a convenience thing at this stage in the game.
