Zone population bonuses calculated on the fly sound like they would be too easy to exploit by the DAOC player base who are masters at figuring out how to game things. Maybe if the bonuses were calculated based on something like the average realm population in all of NF over the previous 2 days it could work in DAOC.

Succinctly,

It's a feature we're considering for DAOC, however how we would implement it is not decided.

Same could be done by different means.. ie add in new tasks like kill 5 YYY players in Zone XXX... the game can give enough of those tasks for 1 zone to allow people to complete them... if the reward is higher than the existing tasks, people will pick it.

It's the type of formula that should be used in keep and tower defense.

exactly, detect there are 100 albs in the keep and only 15 mids, give the mids a fighting chance, etc etc

So you know,

AAO in WAR doesn't actually give a power boost of any sort, aside from against resource carriers in the new ORvR system. The only bonus it provides is an incentive to fight against overwhelming numbers (increased RR/XP (only from player kills)/Influence gain). Smaller, organized and very skillful groups benefit from this quite a bit because it lets them zerg bust for greater reward.
