All Out Assault For DAoC? |
WAR recently got a feature known as All Out Assault, or AAO, which is to assist the underpopulated realm.
There has to be at least 6 enemies in the zone and it scales from there. Depending on the ratio in that specific zone players who are considered outnumbered get a scaling bonus to their RPs and XP. The bonus cap is 400% extra RPs and XP in that specific zone and is constantly fluxuating as players join and leave.
Would this translate over well to DAoC and should it be implemented?

Hmmm. As a long time DAoC fan, I don't like changes, especially in RvR. Was never a fan of dopplegangers for rps, double/triple rp weekends or events. These things cheapened what long term progression was all about. However, I realize those days are gone anyways, and with DAoC being down to just 1 real server (Ywain), and population is often very imbalanced...this could be taken as a 'at least they are addressing' it view.

I bet people would just find a way to farm it for more RPs. But it could make for an interesting idea.

So if a 200 man Kzar zerg runs across agramon and a single bomb grp blows them up, they would get like a gazillion RPs? 
Seriously, i don't really like the idea. I'm pretty conservative about daoc though.
Is the population balance that bad though? I havn't really played since before the summer but it didn't seem that bad back then.

That would not really work for DAoC...8 man's and solo'ers would rake in the RP's like a slot machine.
Not mention, take pre-arranged fights and farming to a new level of stupid.

How did this happen. As a WAR Staffie and a Knight-A-Holic I feel I have failed so miserably that the only thing left to do is to commit seppuku.
