Anyway big NO to OF.. you think these halloween patches are BS.. what do you think OF would bring?! yet more static camping spots....
if boat rides are the issue, fix that some way (allow ports to the enemies' agramon milegate, or perma ports to 1-2 towers in enemy land, or speed up boats, or ...)

Agreed. OF had its own set of issues, we just idealize it and forget about them because that was "back in the day." I did like the terrain and layout of OF better, since each realm's frontier region felt unique, unlike the copy/pasted feel of NF. However, mile gates would be all sorts of broken with today's burst dps. A single reaverbomb camping by the gate could take out an entire group as they head through with almost no warning. A friar with ST3 would lock that group down even more. Or a pair of Verdant animists who bomb the gate the second it opens. Lots of room for issues with the OF setup that would come up. If you got rid of milegates, it might actually work out better. And I would love to see old Marfach/Summoner's Hall back. That was awesome.

All you tards that say OF is a bad idea probably never played OF. You Guys are IDIOTS!!.
How many servers & players were there pre NF/TOA? Daoc was a healthy vibrant MMO that had everything a game would ever want. Realm pride, a real community and you really valued your toon you were playing. Not now, everyone has a temped toon on all 3 realms, makes for a lackluster gaming experience.
NF is DEAD. Only time there is any action is if someone decides to take a relic.
I have personally rode though MID/HIB several times and never saw a soul, NOT 1.
Only action is in Labby and the BG's
We need A New Frontier that's Fun. Fun factor as of now is 2/10

In hindsight, OF was crap...sorry.
If people enjoyed getting smoked by stealth zergs camping mile gates or being portal keep camped, more power to them.
And considering the sorry state EA/Mythic is in, be happy DAoC is even still around.

Personally I liked the 4-5 stealthers camping it. Get 2-3 scouts with me on my armsmen. Throw on a cloak and a staff and have them beat on me thinking i was a caster then swap to sword and board and engage while the scouts just pick them off.
Good times. Oh how I love the brit race

Agree with operation-Chaos : NF so boring . So-called populated Ywain server is false quantity not quality . It was less boring on Boss one month before the cluster . And , oh , though I am a toa hater , was less boring on devon too .A lot of fun in devon Molvik 2 weeks before cluster . Maybe some real community left on devon ...

most of the people who made DAOC great are not longer employed by Mythic.
Origins would be a huge failure.

Mrs. Myra Jenkins, who designed small shrubs for Hibernia, is still there, but, sadly, she was demoted to the Random Frond Division. It's a shame, especially considering Virtual Shrub magazine named her Gaming Shrubber of the Year in 2004.
