Well it seems that there is no answer for the issue that a few of us are having with satelite ISP's. I was on the phone all day yesterday with Wildblue (ISP), Mythic, and even Linksys (router) to try and fix the problem, they all blame eachother. Guess its time to finally give up on DAoC after playing for over 8 years...

Its your ISP that is doing it.

Go google Sattalite Internet Cannot Play Multiplayer Games.

You will find hits regarding this:

http://www.wildblue.com/legal/WildBlue_Fair_Access_Policy_28-Feb-2008.pdf

Their fair use policy states that items like DAOC will be blocked if overused...

Time for a new ISP

Yeah, my first guess was that Wildblue blocked the game, but ive called 2 days in a row now and they say that they havent blocked anything. I wish i could get a real ISP, its hell bein out in the sticks in western weashington, I had to cut down trees just to get Wildblue.

I got the same problem and so does my friend. I got off the phone with an EA tech and they told me that if you have satellite internet you will get that. They have received a lot of complaints about this since the patch and are working towards a fix. Her and I both have that type of internet. I hope this helps.

Well at least EA is fianlly trying to do something about it, i called them 3 different times after the patch. They just gave me the run around blameing my ISP and also Lynksys (router). I guess they dont care untill they get enough people complaining about the issue.

I think Wildblue had experience with Mythic's billing system.

The herald hasn't updated the population numbers for several months now. That's one of the many issues on the herald they aren't fixing bacause they say they are working on a complete revamp.

Have you tried connencting to a freeshard? (google how)
That way you can determine if it's your computer that blocks the daoc client or if it's just mythics servers you can't connect to.

They are?

Bit offtopic, I'm sorry.

Waaaaaaaaaaait a minute! You live in Western Washington? Why are you playing video games? You should be mountain biking, boating, climbing, hiking, or just looking out your window!

Sorry, my jealousy overfloweth.

Lol, if you like this state so much you can have it. Id rather Blow it up, flatten it and pave it over as one big parking lot.At least then i could get Power, Water, sewer and CABLE every where

Have you ever seen a weather forcast this time of year in western washington? lol from now till about may it will be either raining or to cold be hiking. Im originally from Sacramento, Ca. (22 years) so when it rains im used to just staying in that day and enjoy 2 weeks of warm weather that follows the storm. Granted it is sweet to live 20 minutes from mountain loop highway (best sets of trails between Mt Rainier and the Olympic Forest). We are expecting below zero temps with 64+ inches of snow this winter...
