Can someone please do an /appeal in game for me please to see if they know if Wildblue my satelite Internet Service Provider blocked DAoC! From the looks of the posts of people with my same problem they all have satelite internet, and they are notorious for blocking streaming games/websites/programs... Please Help!

Hang on. If they are "notorius" for blocking streaming/gaming services, why are we /apprealing in game for you? Surely you need to take this up with your ISP and not Mythic. I very much doubt Mythic will even have heard of your ISP, let alone know if and why they have blocked you. Even if they did know because of some customers calling tech support, what are they going to do about it?


I think you're barking up the wrong tree here.

Well I finally talked to my ISP (phones opened at 4am pst) wildblue has no record of blocking DAoC/Electronic Arts/Mythic Entertainment. So the problems is on the DAoC side. I was trying to get to the bottom of this ASAP (hence the /appeal). I have been playing DAoC since early 2000 (beta version) this is the fisrt time i have had a real problem logging in that wasnt on my side of the issue. I noticed the only people that have had problems logging in since the last patch have been Satelite users and the only ones that stated their ISP's were wildblue users. thought maybe DAoC could shed some light on the issue. Thanks for the posts, but mythic still has an issue with their last patch for some people, and they need to approach the situation, and besides e-mails i figured /appeals might help the process along, but since i cant log in to /appeal i thought i might reach out to the brothership of my fellow gamers... please help me pass this info along to Mythic...

thanks for backin me. I did post on 2 different boards, but only because i looked at both boards and both had people posting the same issue, and they both got dropped to page 3-4 on recent posts, so i made new ones with same issue to try and keep the issue alive for those of us that need it. of course i have been the only one online all night to try and fix it so i get repetitive, but it seams to be an isolated problem to a certain group of people. i just love the game and have never been locked out because of an issue i cant figure out, so it bothers me lol

Since the game updated yesterday, and some things changed... Try this.

Ping the hearld... and see if you get to it.

2nd.. Try turning off your firewall, and see if you can get in.
Due to the game.dll file changing, you're firewall may actually be blocking
access to the internet, due to it being different than before.

I had the same issue, and I'm on DSL, but as soon as I disabled the firewall, I was
able to get back in the game without any other issues.

Tried pinging the herald and came up empty. herald isnt even showing a change in the amount of people logged in on the servers for the last few hours. turned off my personal fire wall and windows fire wall (also allowed access on both for the herald/herald IP address/and update server IP address... still on the phone with customer support.

The herald hasn't updated the population numbers for several months now. That's one of the many issues on the herald they aren't fixing bacause they say they are working on a complete revamp.


Have you tried connencting to a freeshard? (google how)
That way you can determine if it's your computer that blocks the daoc client or if it's just mythics servers you can't connect to.

I found this amusing concidering the VN's isn't operated by your ISP or Mythic tech support. But anyway, back to the OP's question. I have some common sense advice for you.

1. Contact your ISP and try again until your convinced the problem is not at their end.
2. CALL Mythic and don't try and go the CSR route. You will get nowhere. The wheel has stopped and the hamster is dead.
3. Both Mythic and Wildblue will play the blame game, saying it's each other or your PC/firewall, so be prepared to go through a few hoops
