Sorc is an elite character in any group / solo / zerg format.

Does Albion do well in RvR?

I play Gaheris, so I wouldn't know. However, sorcs are still the primary CC class in Alb, and I haven't heard of any major nerfs to them. I still have an incredibly easy time of dueling on mine, so I would assume it transfers fairly well to real RvR. Everyone loves primary CC classes, and since sorcs are also good (not great) single target DPS casters, I would imagine you can't go wrong playing on a sorc. Decent farmers too, although a necro or scout is much better.

What is the RvR area like on Gaheris? Is it like guards controlling keeps that you take over? I made a 50 Paladin long time ago there but never did anything more.

Yeah, keeps are controlled by monsters, and the keep lord drops seals that you turn in for RPs (these are also tradeable). Sorcs are hardly ever seen on Gaheris though (aka never). Primary PvE chars on Gaheris are shield specced tanks (heavy tanks, paladins, valks, wardens primarily), pbae classes (SM and Enchanter almost exclusively) and spec buffers. Friars and scouts are also fairly popular for people who solo. Since I run 3 accounts (ran 2 for a long time as well), I run enchanter/druid/armsman primarily, or chanter/warden, and then use that group to keep other characters fed with stuff/RPs.

That 3 account thing reminds me of me having a mentalist and cleric while an online friend made an enchanter and we would take on everything we could with his ML9 pet (IIRC). This was on Mordred server. I don't think I'd like Gaheris, but I'm not you.

Mentalists have seen some love recently but you're still going to have a hard time getting groups. 1. cuz your playing a Ment. 2. cuz you're new.
Play an Alb char, Sorc is a good choice, get into any pick up group, run with the Alb Zerg or solo/small man easily.

I voted Heretic. It's a newer class so you may not have played it. Anyway you have tons of options, solo/small man/group and then you can either go heal or dps spec. It's a pretty cool class because if you can switch between roles later on if you change your mind on what you want to play.

What do you mean by well?
Have some great 8mans? Yes.
Zerg like it's nobodies business? Oh yes.
Have many solo players? In a way yes, because a 'solo' alb's about half a group.
Saying that; I'd suggest Albion, you can get a grp in no time and you will NEVER be the underpopulated realm (which doesn't sound good, but after playing hib for a while... having mids and albs everywhere gets old when you can't even get a moderately even fight (+/- a few people).
Mid you can get grps sometimes as well, Hib always seemed to be the hardest, mostly grps rolling that are set.
