Mauler dps is actually quite good at that level, particularly with high power strikes. [Don't forget the side stun, rear snare, frontal dd style, pbae snare, pbae root, unbreakable cone root, endo taps, etc]. I'm not sure why 95% of maulers in thid quit after 2 days or whatever.
[edit] btw, it seems as if you've ignored the fact that bards have 2 insta amnesias which can be very useful when playing vs alb groups at this level (mainly due to slow cast times)

I always find it really funny when people play Thid together in groups larger than 4.
Solo is fine, it's time away from big boy.
Duo is good for a friend.
Trio is for a couple buddies.
Once you start roaming 4+ on a nightly basis, you really need to play mains and get out to NF... What's the fun in slamming partially templated weak groups with a set group? Yeah, okay, you kill them? Big deal, you'll only get some titles; that no one really cares about anymore anyways... I understand when Thid was bumping on Killi/Devon clusters (/level = win for Thid action) and there was a solid amount of players doing it.
Now it just seems pointless, and all these groups tend to do is ruin fun for players trying to get some RR before going up.
Anyways. Cheers all.

it's all about a quick easy and small battleground where smaller numbers can outplay much much larger numbers. it's not about even(4v4) fights but rather about the uneven ones 2v16 4v8+ etc
plus it's much easier to template and level for thid

I'm just saying, what the big deal being in a set group of seven, killing even 20-30 untemplated random put together groups that's like...
tank, tank, tank, caster, caster, caster, random seer class, archer?
If "skilled" folk want to prove their value in something like a 2v16, gotta move up to nf. Sorry, but killing 16 untemplated/not certain how to play their class kids... doesn't really mean much; I can direct people to several 2-3 v g's + AMO's had the past couple years, but I don't bother because it's mostly kids who don't know what they're doing in the lab. Same deal here.

well to put it bluntly nobody cares what you think. people will play this game in a way that is fun for them regardless of what your opinion on the matter is.
i find it fun to play in a 4man of only bards and taking on the alb and mid zergs back to back and winning.
even playing sorc+theurgist and taking on 2fg and winning can be proof of a measure of 'skill.' the important thing for YOU to realize is that what might not be fun for you might be fun for somebody else.

Well to me the fun of playing thidranki is not being 50 and having a bunch of random toys and ra's skills that completely change every char it's more down to the point who can land there weapon styles and that stuff. You do realize though that a bard in thid has a instant that removes your targets and that opens the slot for them to mezz you while your scrambling to regain a target. Second not sure if there is any truth to this or not but i heard bards have the fastest speed out of skald and minnie...i wish i could remember what thats bards instant was though.
They arent cheatign just simply beating you to it the instant i speak of is a AEO as well so anyone around you looses there target.

^^ Neither of those are true. Amnesia only cancels your cast (without hard interrupting), it doesn't drop your target. Skald, Minstrel and Bard all have the exact same speed, but bards get endo so they can perma sprint with only Longwind 1 instead of longwind 2.
Running a smallman in BGs has nothing to do with "proving your skill", at least not for me. It's all about finding quick action and having fun.
Me and some friends ran a 4man in molvik way back on classic, that we rolled to fight other 4mans (was popular for a while). We ended up mostly killing full groups and zergs though. If there weren't at least a couple of full grps out for us to kill we'd just log.
I actually have a video i made during the first couple of days in there if you're interested.
