My character is a bane of mid and hib so I know what I am doing and seeing. In recent months the appearance of a thid gank group
with 2 bards, a menty, a mauler, and 2 nightshades (sometimes a chanter) has been on the prowl-usually later at night- around 10:00 Pm est.. here's the thing- they travel at the speed of light- they find groups and trail from behind even when we are running minstrel speed with LW2 and sprint. Their bards will mez us- even when we jump them and are in the middle of our mezzes or roots- their mez casts appears to be about 1.5 sec at best- maybe quicker.. Sorc mezzes on all of them only last for about 5 secs- same with 120 sec roots. We are not breaking mezzes- or no one around us to break this is open field rvr- or even close to our PK- no one can handle them even when they pk hump. They only play for shorter periods before jumping realms to play their mids (usually full of bone dancers etc.)
this short playing time also sets off alarm bells to me- some of the old time radar uses were smart enough to know not to stay on for too long.
no aoe's no damage shields etc- i am sure all of you that play Thid know who i am talking about- they are a pain - and ruining play for the rest of us playing with moderate armor and no speed hacks or whatever else is around.
something is clearly fishy- i have been a player almost since day one and I have seen it all- and this group clearly has something "on" that makes them almost impossible to deal with. I would ask that a mythic CSR log on late and check out this hib group that seems just too good to be true- in my experience most are just that- they use exploits to gain advantage over the rest of us honest players.

... well a level 24 bard can get the level 23 speed 3 in Nurture spec. And a level 24 bard specced fully into music can get a pretty decent Mez. Of course, one bard can't do both of these in Thid, but 2 Bards can.
A Mentalist has a cure mez at level 19 in Mentalism, and both Bard's should have a baseline cure mez from being level 24. So that would explain why Mez is pretty much useless on them.
A bunch of experienced players could easily go and make a 6-8 man group in Thid that will destroy everyone else. I don't see why they would want to do this, it seems obvious there is no one who can even put up a good fight against them, so its not much of an accomplishment. But it's doubtful they are cheating.

Nothing of what you just mentioned suggests that they are cheating, any semi-organized group could do that in thid.
About them not playing for long, they probably got bored... When me and some friends ran a 4man grp in molvik 3 years or so ago, we'd get bored and /quit if there weren't at least a couple of full groups out for us to kill. Eventually it got to the point where people would just log out when they saw us online and that's when we stopped playing our molvik toons (that we initially rolled to fight other molvik 4mans btw).

Why the hell would you need to use radar when you have max speed in a tiny BG like Thid? More than likely, if they are seemingly always hitting from behind they are following ghosts, I did that for years and it's worse now than ever. Having 3 demezzers = short mezz's. Nothing you said sounds like anything more than an organized group farming solos and noobs, kind fo dumb for Thid but whatever turns their crank.

Interestingly enough- the grp has not played since my post- but- you are all missing the point -or not reading-
entire grp mezzed or rooted- we watch as 3-5 secs later members of the group are suddenly not mezzed or rooted with no other outside activity
we surprise the grp - and begin to cast mez or root- halfway or more through our 2.5-2.8 sec cast - we are mezzed by the bard we surprised
we are running minstrel speed with invig pot and sprint and are overtaken from behind
the mauler- for gods sake its a mauler- has 60 db and zero deaths--
why would anyone use speed hacks- lag casts- runs through s- radar- cause they want to win- always
we have encountered other similar hib grps put together in a similar ways (with different characters) and the fights are fair- we win some- we lose some
come on.....

I saw what clearly looked like SOS in thid 3 times this week.
This would explain why mez is worthless, but how do you get SOS?
