So I used /respec buy once on my enchanter at 25 to go from light (for PvP) to mana (for leveling). Having done BG quests and TDs I had enough cash to do this (I had used the 20 respec to go from mana from leveling to light for battlegrounding.)

So I've been leveling up as mana since 25, and things are going smoothly. I get to 39 and decide to hang around Molvik for a while before leveling on up. This is my highest level toon on Hib, btw, so I don't have a lot of cash from other chars. I decided to try Molvik as full mana, but without that top tier resist debuff, and without any spare points into light, my baseline nukes were pathetic. I needed to go light spec for Molvik.

I tried to use /respec buy, but the dang cost is like 1.9 plat now! WTF?

So I went into housing, bought 50 dragon scales for 250g... that's 10 full respec tones worth! 10 full career respecs for 250g, versus the built in GENEROUS single line respec for 1.9 plat. Ridiculous.

Don't you think it's about time Mythic readjusts the /respec buy costs, or is it better this way? I feel for other returning players who don't know the various ways to get respec stones for cheaper...

Anyway, just complaining since I thought that was ridiculous this weekend.

It takes a lot of nails to build a crib, but just one screw to fill it.

I never liked the way /respec buy prices increased each time you used it. It was part of a philosophy that was dominant in the game's early years that respecs should be difficult to acquire. It would certainly be nice if they changed it to be a low, fixed price, but as has been pointed out, respecs can now easily be acquired in housing for minimal cost.

When they first were announced on Pendragon, I submitted feedback and voiced my concern here about the permanence of the price increase. I suggested a decay timer of a week in which the price would step back a level if you hadn't purchased another respec in that time. In the end, I never ever used the /respec buy command.
