A cabalist and a cleric make an extremely good duo in pve. You can level very quickly and farm very well at 50. In pvp, both are very strong classes, but don't work well as a duo due to lack of good cc or speed. However, if you intend to group they would do very well. Another option you might consider is having your friend play a sorcerer. You won't level quite as quickly, but it will still go at a decent clip and sorcs farm very well end game. Also, sorcs have excellent pvp capabilities due to speed and multiple forms of aoe cc and duo very well with a cleric.

To sum it up, cabalist+cleric will level very quickly, farm quite nicely and do well in group rvr, but won't do very well as a duo. Sorc + cleric will be somewhat slower in pve and won't farm well until the sorc is ml10, but is great for both groups and as a duo in rvr, and is my favorite farming combination once you get mls.

Edit: I should also add that if you want to lvl quickly and farm well, necro+cleric is hard to beat for speed and efficiency. However, the downside is that a necromancer has almost zero rvr potential.

As for the ui, bob's ui has numerous healers helpers in it. You should run the options chooser and look through everything so you can choose what works best for you, although it'll probably change as you get settled in more.

reavers aren't that bad at all really as fighters (hybrids) go.

I've leveled a few w/out bots.

Stand back, use insta debuff to pull > engage > reactionary slam style (low endurance cost)> side life tap. It's been a while, I forget the style names.

makes short work of them though.
