Ywain - 1 server with 10 lobbies.

There is also the Gaheris (PvE) and Mordred (PvP) servers but they are ghost towns. Not sure when you quit but the classic servers no longer exist.

Gaheris is small, but it's not a ghost town yet.

100 players on average, but a lot of the activities on the server are centralized, so you run into people all the time.

healer class might be rough to start on. Maybe playing something else up to thid to learn the game etc would be a good start.

this. People have little patience at this stage in the game for noob players. You'll most likely get yelled at a lot and/or booted from groups.

Or a healer hybrid, a pure healer is painful...

I would suggest a Warden, shaman, or Heretic, they are actually pretty fun to play and have tonnes of utility.

Somewhere "south" of $100million to develop, and now subscriptions are somewhere south of 100k, gotta love the irony.

I'd agree with the previous posters in strongly advising against starting with a pure healer. Even if you are a naturally great healer player and aren't worried about end game rvr performance, the fact is that you will not be getting a leveling group and the absolute last thing you want to introduce yourself to DAoC is to solo grind a pure healer to 50. Your best bet would be to make something that is easy to solo level and good for farming first so you can get a handle on the game and get some resources, then work on a healer.
