As I've said to all the previous cleric TLs, the main issue with the class is there's little reason for any non-soloing cleric to put more than leftover points in smite. At least druids and healers get pets and/or CC from medium levels of their unique lines. All support clerics get from putting a few more points in smite is a slightly less crappy PBAE mezz and less variance on their baseline DD. Uh yeah....
So your class has a good solo line and a good group line but you are unhappy?
No I'm unhappy at the lack of spec options for a cleric who wants to group. Basically you get to choose between 40-42 enhance and 33-36 rejuv with leftover points in smite. In contrast healers and druids have much more flexibility. Nature druids are much more accepted in groups than smite clerics, and of course pac healers are the most common spec and tri-spec healers are also effective and wanted. No doubt a lot of the problem is that groups expect clerics to have at least yellow buffs and resist buffs, but they would accept a cleric with some smite more (and clerics would be more likely to spec smite more) if smite offered a group something in addition to damage such as, say, nearsight.
I like the idea of a nearsight added to the cleric smite spec line. My reason is because it always seems albs are lacking the use of high level nearsight. Maybe its because most wizards don't go high in earth spec so they only get green nearsight and most groups don't like the use of dots because it breaks mezz and roots. Putting nearsight in the smite spec line would definitely make smite spec more useful for solo or group.

In my opinion, do clerics need any added cc. Yes, but not a lot because of the fact that clerics are not suppose to be a CC support class. In my opinion if clerics are given any added cc, they should be only given a single target type cc not aoe type cc and be under the smite spec line. An example would be what the Mentalist of Hibernia gets under the mentalism spec line.
Don't Clerics already have a 9 second stun, a PBAOE Mezz and a PBAOE Snare ?
Those are already damned good abilities on a class that can deal damage in return.
Sounds like you guys want the Cleric to be something that it's not.

I sure hope no stupid ideas like adding CC gets put into the Cleric reports.
That borders up there with the same level of lunacy as giving savages charge.

Eh not so much...
Nature druids only get accepted if they pair up with some other druid to cover them so druids are about the same, -some kind of 30-35 regrowth 39-44 nurture w/leftover in nature spec is basically all you ever see.
Healers I guess are distinct enough to distinguish pac healers and tri-spec and aug/mend healers but really ~3 specs vs ~2 isn't all that much and really you should also note that shaman really don't have much spec option and they are at least as comparable a class.

Smite was so OP'ed back in the day, that Albs literally did not have any healing clerics at all...
And the cleric has enough CC...
Smite needs some adjusting to provide more spec options and the power issues addressed, but besides that, the class is working as intended IMHO.
