Hi ALL!
I am the new Cleric Mentor. My main Cleric will be Mohadien. I might make a new one to start from scratch to focus completely on the class and to make the Cleric Mentor easily known by name.
Please feel free to post here or even better post at my thread on the cleric class board here:

Your questions/suggestions are always welcomed to help the class and the play within the DAOC community.

As I've said to all the previous cleric TLs, the main issue with the class is there's little reason for any non-soloing cleric to put more than leftover points in smite. At least druids and healers get pets and/or CC from medium levels of their unique lines. All support clerics get from putting a few more points in smite is a slightly less crappy PBAE mezz and less variance on their baseline DD. Uh yeah....

agreed. if solo or duo go smite and heals imo. if support then enh/rej maybe up to 7smite for the instas that MIGHT get a tank or two off u so you can throw a heal or two.

So your class has a good solo line and a good group line but you are unhappy?

No I'm unhappy at the lack of spec options for a cleric who wants to group. Basically you get to choose between 40-42 enhance and 33-36 rejuv with leftover points in smite. In contrast healers and druids have much more flexibility. Nature druids are much more accepted in groups than smite clerics, and of course pac healers are the most common spec and tri-spec healers are also effective and wanted. No doubt a lot of the problem is that groups expect clerics to have at least yellow buffs and resist buffs, but they would accept a cleric with some smite more (and clerics would be more likely to spec smite more) if smite offered a group something in addition to damage such as, say, nearsight.

well mythic did change the smite line to give heals while doing damage. that being said, i dont feel it was enough to convince clerics to give up alot of rej/enh to have higher smite with a gimp damage/heal DD. it was a sorry attempt to make the clerics smite like that of a mentalist with much less benefit. as it stands your choices are either smite/enh. smite/rej, enh/rej, or rej/enh as a cleric. most groups want the minimum 40enh and 30rej+ spec on clerics.
smite clerics cast way to slow to be a viable dps toon. they only get stun for casting cc. they get crappy pbaoe mez/snare ona 5 minute timer, and the rr5 ability.
in short, either full smite or enh/cleric(most common) are the only viable specs. as a smite cleric your unlikely to get a group.

In my opinion, do clerics need any added cc. Yes, but not a lot because of the fact that clerics are not suppose to be a CC support class. In my opinion if clerics are given any added cc, they should be only given a single target type cc not aoe type cc and be under the smite spec line. An example would be what the Mentalist of Hibernia gets under the mentalism spec line.
1 Enfeeble Mind 3.0s/16 seconds 1500 range
5 Cripple Mind 3.0s/21 seconds 1500 range
10 Incapacitate Mind 3.0s/28 seconds 1500 range
15 Disable Mind 3.0s/34 seconds 1500 range
23 Paralyze Mind 3.0s/44 seconds 1500 range
31 Lock Mind 3.0s/55 seconds 1500 range
41 Petrify Mind 3.0s/1 minute 8 seconds 1500 range
50 Unmake Mind 3.0s/1 minute 20 seconds 1500 range

i wouldn't be opposed to that! i think the cleric smite line needs something else than what it has now to really become a more useful line. even if whatever was added was higher up in the smite line. maybe a castable root if not a mez.
congrats to the new cleric mentor!
