Yup, I saw that in the letter, but nothing in the current patch notes. My point being, this should be a top priority for overall improvement of everyone's gaming experience, not RR5 changes as the primary focus.
We'll see.
I would agree, often it seems that Mythic is not focused on what really needs to be addressed.
But, at the same time we must also realize:
Everyone on a team is not a quarterback.
Everyone on a team is not a center.
Everyone on a team is not a wide receiver.
Everyone on a team is not . . . .
Everyone that works for Mythic does not necessarily have the expertise to be focused on “How to fix lag issuesâ€. Should all the others (granted the few others) but should all the others sit and do nothing while they wait to see what the “lag issues†team (edit: "lag issues" person) comes up with?
Modifying the RRs is probably not the one thing that will save the game or the one thing that should have all the focus of Mythic, but Mythic has said they do have (or will have) “valuable Engineering resources†addressing the lag issue. Lets hope that with MJ gone they actually mean what they say and they are not just spouting wishful thinking of what may someday happen.
semi has it right, the lag issue is a code level problem for sure, and it requires extensive network knowledge, so mythic is unlikely to have many qualified people to fix the problem.(1 person probly borrowed from another project most likely)
but RR changes isnt code level.. its just changing values in a database.. with very minimal programming experience/knowledge required..
so its easy to work on both things at the same time...
