Sometimes this happens to me when:

Account is already logged in,

Account with wrong quickload charactor, try just going into server select screen

Firewall issue, if your able to alt+tab, might see a message.

Was your char on an archived server? Need to be transfered to ywain?


edit: so you havent played since 2005?

then your charactor is on an archived server.

go to server select screen, check the 'archived servers' box, i think it is.

log on to that person, and there is a command to type in to transfer them to the new server. I believe it tells you when you log in.


everybody has been switched to ywain. choose any ywain server you want, they are all the same, you play with all the ywain people like 1 big cluster server.


i believe this has something to do with your problem and not your PC

Got it going ... apparently ZoneAlarm Game Mode does NOT allow DAOC to operate at all. Manually adding Camelot.exe to the allowed programs still didn't work! So as was suggested, I shut the stoopid app off! Got in and started to work.

I was in the tutorial and just about the time it was refreshing me on the hotbars and stuff I got bumped out. Is this a common happening? Got back in within a couple minutes but it was rather disconcerting. This was about 630-7 PM Eastern.

Servers ... if ywain is the only server why are Pendragon, Gaheris and some others in the list showing as active? As for archived stuff, I can't remember the account/password from then and electronic records have been destroyed in HD crashes. <shrug> IMO, it's kind of fun to re-learn tactics and stuff in a newbie character.

Because Pendragon is a test server, has maybe 4 players on it at any given time...Gaheris is a Pve Only server has probably under 200 users on it at any given time, Mordred is a pvp/ganker server, has maybe 3 players on it at any given time...

I used to run ZA for years. It is a pretty big resource hog. I recommend going for a different paid for Firewall/Antivirus software. If you want to go the free route I find the least cumbersome and best all around free one is the Microsoft Security Essentials. AVG sucks.

glad you got it working, now if you feel the need to have ZA active while playing(i dont see the need) DAoC, you will also have to allow Start.dll and Game.dll as well, the Game.dll is the one that was causing your problem when it was being blocked by ZA!


And i also Suggest that you Download my chatfixer/Char Copier from NSaneys(link below in my sig) site for your chat windows bars and such, helps ALOT! You can Copy Character setup files from 1 char to another, make all your characters have the same windows setup etc....... it's free and nsaney will tell you it's virus free, lol it's on HIS site!

If you go to http://accounts.eamythic.com and choose the option of forgot account name, you can enter your email address and have any accounts associated with that email address sent to you! Then from there do the recover password thing and away you go!

You can buy almost everything with plat and bounty points.

BP's can buy ML's, artis, and bp items for everyone, almost all that stuff is tradable.

Plat you can buy scales and get slayer gear/weapons.

ML10 loot got a revamp and is in high demand.

and some of the older boss mobs also got revamped gear, so updating templates might be needed
