While there are not many noobs running around in those zones, there are noobs in those zones and their subs are part of what is keeping the doors open. I doubt the noobs would find it much fun to get rolled and griefed over and over by some fully templated high RR level 50.
I call that realm incentive for defense!
There is no “Realm Defense†or “fighting for the Realm†anymore. That vanished long ago.
Also, the last thing the Frontiers needs is more area (Three more RvR areas).
Modifications to the RvR game will never save DAoC and any changes that damage the PvE areas certainly will not help the game.
Mythic has never understood and based on the last interview that is linked to on one of the boards threads, Mythic still does not understand.
The number of MMO players that primarily want to PvP/RvR is very small. The number of MMO players that like to PvP/RvR from time to time, when they are taking a break from having their PvE fun, is in the millions.
Anything that Mythic does, and any changes that Mythic makes, that cater to the RvR/PvP crowd will not improve subs because Mythic already has those subs. The only way to save the game, and to improve the number of players in RvR/PvP, is to improve the subs of the general/typical MMO player and that is done by improving/untwisting the PvE game.
Unfortunately EA does not seem to have a clue that DAoC could be salvaged. With the proper direction and a small amount of funding DAoC could once again be built into a viable and lucrative game. Fewer than 25 people built the original game. To salvage the game would not take tens of $$$ millions and an army.
