Do people actually go to dungeon and group for leveling nowadays (like the old days), or is it just all power leveling/quick levels? Thinking of coming back to midgard to see how things go, but I don't want to be alone out in the world.

I'm sure people still do, just not as much. I recommend a guild if you don't already have one, as they may be willing to help.

Leveling in modern day DAoC is not a big deal, IMHO. I have done it solo, just by going from battleground to battleground. Crazy EXP right there.

I want to level in groups and meet some new people. I enjoy the tedious leveling. Task dungeons killed it for me. I haven't been around since the classic servers were released, so I was curious if the old gameplay is still there. Thanks for the info.

the server i play on, you have to level the hard way because there is no /level 20 command
they are even working on making the starter zones back to were they used to be and when that happenes, i'll make me another char just for the fun

Don't worry bro the grind is still there waiting for you, it just doesn't take as long as it used to.

As for leveling with people, good luck is all I'm gonna say. You'll be lucky to find anyone in your level range who isn't either PLing an alt to 50 or a bg toon, and if you do 9/10 times they won't want to group up.

Then again, as I typed that, I'm reminded that it's not entirely true. I'm not a fan of the power-level, so I level practically all of my toons, and even at the latest stages of the game I usually had a leveling buddy or could find someone. But I can almost guarantee that you won't form a group of more than 3 until you hit 40.

there is good items to get in dungeons and what not leveling up. probably not as common to find groups anymore at all. mostly powerlevel in rassa toa, but that got nerfed recently.


new frontiers gives a slight taste of what daoc had to offer, mostly zerging, assjaming because of the warmap

There is still leveling. I noticed many people using BG Quests and Dousing the Flames (after Lvl40), both gives crazy xp.

I did it too, starting on Ywain a few days after christmas, and It took me about 4 weeks of irregular playing without any help,
guild, or whatever to get my main to 47,5.

Until now, there were about 1-2 Moments of frustation, like not knowing where to go to level or being wiped all the time.

Back in the days ( 2007 and before) there would have been 20-30 such moments.

I use a Friar and have unlimited Endurance befcause of "Saints Vigor". I don't like this, but hey, why not. I appealed this,
reported this, feedbacked this and no reply.

Yellow cons are like green cons were back in the days but give more xp.super Easy mode.
Until this point there was nothing like a bit of challenge in PvE. Positive Remark, some of the negative things gone, too.

But..

DAoC is WAY to easy atm, and yes, there is regular leveling.
