Just came back and made a BD just because they always seem to level very fast. But with these new kill quests in each battleground would seem any class can now level fast. I dont really wanna play the BD just wondering if theres a melee class that can kill just as fast? preferably on Alb or Hib side so i can do the quests as fast as possible.

yes any archer can kill faster, ns can kill super quick as well, and never has to draw a sword!

Archer might as well be a caster. I havent tried out a NS since i first started like 9 years ago. Might give one a go again. Think i quit him cause it took too long to kill stuff.

When RA-speccing for it, my Thane AE-nuke oj-red mobs in malmoe for 420-650(crits not included). More damage and faster with singlenuke ofc(melee-wise, 50axe and 50hammer-specs hits very hard, due to their meleestyle dd-procs).

Except for archers and Thanes(and ValeWalkers and Heretics) Vamps kill stuff quite fast, and so does Savages.


Actually, of all melee/hybrids, I think it's the Warden and the Bard that kill things slow. Light tanks does a good job, and so does heavy tanks, and assasins. Champs, Pallies and Skalds ain't bad(all 3 with their own "edge". Spearspecced Valkyries could kill a bunch of mobs pretty fast, if 41spearspecced.

A high level mob/pet, thats buffed, and it's master the Minstrel, kill stuff pretty fast too.

Anything with decent DPS can kill/level fast these days. Make sure you have invig pots for any melee classes and some buff pots to add DPS. Also, heal/power pots keep downtime to a minimum.

Probably wont be able to afford a luxury like pots for a while with a new toon and no plat. Thinking about maybe thane or Valk if I decide to stay Mid or Champ if i go Hib or Reaver if Alb.

Melee leveling is far from slow if you follow the basic guidelines, the MOST basic of which being that you need gear and buffs to level fast while casters really don't. Beg for gold and buy buff pots (don't forget endo). Get new weapons every 3-5 levels once your trainer stops giving them to you.

You'll be 4 shotting OJs all the way to 50.

So true. I tried leveling a melee class without any help and without any gold from alts (as a test) and it is a pain. When I logged in one of my 50s that had plat and spent a bunch of gold on gear/pots for the melee class the change was like night to day.

player crafted, 99+ quality is where its at! add a proc too.


Also, a Healer with celerity and haste is pretty quick. They have that new spell buff that procs a big DD in pve. Goes off ALOT. I was taking aggro from a warrior lol.

and Mauler is pretty fast for all 3 realms (doesn't kill the fastest, but hardly any downtime)
