disgusting April Fools joke. BAD FORM!!(or the board Nazi Aroith touches my post again for so called profanity)

Greetings,

We have brought Pendragon offline this morning for an addition to version 1.108. The test server is back online now and we are looking forward to receiving your feedback on the new version!

For the full list of changes in this update please see the notes below, thank you!

Highlights

* Many strange events are occurring in the lands of Camelot! Do not fear – while they may seem frightening and startling, please do not contact Customer Service as these issues will resolve themselves quickly.

* The realm war has spilled over into the housing regions! Defend your home from enemy realm invaders, lest they make off with your trophies and items!

* Many new, exciting alternate currencies have been added to the game to allow you to purchase even more items from even more places!

* Many longstanding class balance issues have been addressed.

* Many encounters have had their loot drops updated in accordance with their difficulty.

World

* Minotaurs will now be able to play as Bainshees, Valkyries, and Necromancers, where they will be distinguished by the horns on their shade and zombie pets.

o Note: Players may still not choose “female” as an option for Minotaur characters.

* Clerics and Paladins will no longer be able to group with Heretics after their religious differences became irreconcilable.

* Due to uncontrolled magic swirling around the realm, anyone who casts a spell within 100 units of a friendly player who has cast a spell within half a second will explode, killing their character. Resurrection will not be possible, and the release command will not be available.

* We have fixed a bug that was causing the /xp off command to stop the player from gaining experience points instead of awarding three times as many experience points as it was designed.

* Pet pathing has been fixed. All pets will now function similarly to Animist turrets, and will be stationary. In order to preserve class balance, Animist turrets have been removed from the game.

Realm vs. Realm

* Portals at the bottom of the Irish Sea will now allow players to invade the enemy realm’s housing regions, where you will be able to plunder from the homes of your enemies! You will be able to place any captured trophies on the walls of your house, but the people whose houses you plundered will be alerted once you have placed the item. Beware of retribution!

* Merchants have been added to the housing region that will sell torches for 200 platinum – don’t want to steal anything from another player’s house? Simply burn it down, and slaughter their merchants! Players whose houses have been burned are still responsible for paying rent on their property, and will have to re-buy their house deed in order to rebuild. All items inside will be lost, so be careful!

* Players will be able to buy lots in enemy realms to place trebuchets on. Lot prices will be 200 platinum pieces, and trebuchets will cost another 50 platinum pieces. Ammunition will not be free – you can purchase it from a vendor at the housing entrance for 200 gold per stone. However, if you slaughter any Minotaur players in the housing region, you will receive a diseased carcass you can use in these trebuchets. These trebuchets will not have any rent cost, and are indestructible.

* The Market Explorers will be killable, but will not respawn – you will need to journey to your realm’s capital city and convince a citizen there to take up the duties of the Market Explorer in order to use this function.

* Consignment Merchants can now be upgraded like guards with items and armor, and can be leveled up using special scrolls that will cost 50 platinum. These scrolls will increase your Consignment Merchant’s level by 10 and grant him special abilities. However, if he is killed, he will drop everything currently on him, including the coin he was holding.

Items

* Thirty new and exciting alternate currencies have been added to the game to allow players more freedom to purchase the items that they need. These currencies will be found in the Frontiers, Classic Regions, Shrouded Isles Regions, Trials of Atlantis Regions, Catacombs Regions, and the Labyrinth, as well as all dungeons and instances in each of these areas. You will be able to take these currencies to new faction-based NPCs that will allow you to buy powerful new items and vanity pets.

* Merchants have been added to the Throne Rooms that will allow you to exchange these new currencies between themselves at an ever-changing rate, determined by the amount of each currency currently available on the server.

* None of these currencies will be able to be traded in for Dragon Scales or Atlantean Glass. They will, however, be tradeable for Aurulite.

* Due to player demand, the items available from Draco will be moved to multiple other encounters in the game to reflect these other encounters’ difficulty. These encounters will be found in the Tomb of Mithra, Nisse’s Lair, and Muire’s Tomb, but the levels of these NPCs have not been adjusted. Higher-level players may run into some difficulty attempting to farm these encounters for loot.

* The Kraken’s loot table has been replaced with uncooked calamari after it was discovered that octopi don’t have pockets.

* All Minotaur enemies in the game will now drop tenderloin when killed. This may be consumed to grant the player a buff to their “Deliciousness” stat, which determines likelihood of feeling full.

Encounters

* Many encounters in the world have been redone to encourage players to adopt a wider variety of tactics and strategy. These encounters feature monsters that will take more damage based on the number of different races currently attacking them – attacking with a group comprised solely of one character race will actually heal them, while attacking with members of all 7 races in a realm will cause the attackers to deal 50% increased damage. On Gaheris, you must have representatives from all 21 races to gain this 50% increased damage bonus. (All three realms’ Minotaurs must be present)

* Monsters have adapted to the focus damage shields employed by Cabalists, Enchanters, and Spiritmasters, and will now be healed by this damage, rather than harmed by it.

Class Balance

Archetype

* Assassins will now wear jester hats at all times because everyone else agreed that it made the overall experience so much more pleasant.

* Minstrels, Bards, and Skalds will now be required to chat only in iambic pentameter. Any other messages that they attempt to enter will not be displayed.

Bainshee

* We have fixed an issue that was causing this class’ name to have an extra “i" in it.

Healer

* We have corrected an issue that was allowing this class access to the Mending specialization line and have replaced this with the intended third specialization: Arsonry. This line specializes in high fire damage at long range and maniacal cackling.

Mauler

* In light of player feedback, Maulers will now wear plate armor in all three realms to increase their survivability and will regenerate power to full out-of-combat.

* The cooldown on kick has been removed and this has been made an instant-cast spell. As such, this spell shall now be referred to as “Trample.”

Vampiir

* We have fixed an issue that was causing this class’ name to not be spelled “Dracula”.

* All Dracula players will be asked to choose an appropriate title when they next log in. These will be selected from the following list:

o The Impaler

o The Eternal

o The Misunderstood

o The Excessively-Overdone

Wizard

* All Wizard players will have the words “The Great and Powerful” displayed before their name any time they speak in chat.

Ahahaha.. I really laughed at this one...

* Due to uncontrolled magic swirling around the realm, anyone who casts a spell within 100 units of a friendly player who has cast a spell within half a second will explode, killing their character. Resurrection will not be possible, and the release command will not be available.

Maybe it's just me but I can't find it funny when they put fake notes on the Herald when the real patch notes are nowhere to be found. This task is apparently not something that our new community manager is capable of doing or willing to do, but he can find time to put out fake notes ... makes you wonder what priorities are really important to him...

The notes for 1.100-1.107 on the Herald do not exist.

The Patch Note archive ends at 1.98 and going backwards through the Herald using the "Game News Archive" has every 1.10x returning to the "Live" version.

These links are incorrectly showing the link to the patch notes to the live version:

CLearly, you have not been around long, or are just simply blind\retarded. The patch notes are temporarily *down* because it is April 1st, hence the joke of notes. Now if I need to explain what today is, then there is definitely something wrong. Maybe you should relax and just enjoy the day, go outside, and stay off the computer for the day. Seems like someone pissed in your cheerios this morning, and now you hate April Fools Day.

If only real patches had 10% of the creativity and enthusiasm of this fake patch.

Clearly you did not read my post.

The old patch notes going back to May 2009 DO NO EXIST on the Herald. If you follow the links I provided you will not find the actual patch notes that are supposed to be there but are not there.

It's not like this is the first time I posted about this or like I did not call, write and PM Mythic in every way imaginable to get them to fix the problem.

They altered the system after 1.000 iirc, probably due to the version number format being changed. Now patch notes are no longer recorded by the herald as seperate pages, they just delete/update the same page every time a new patch is cycled.

Not a bug, working as intended.

as for the april foolery, last year was a bit better.
