The only people affected by Relics now are the RvR'ers.

It's not like you have a PvE penalty for having no relics. Hell, the only RvR penalty you have for no relics is that the other guy has a big bonus - you still hit just as hard as you ever did, and can kill him just as fast as you ever could. Assuming, of course, that he doesn't kill you first with his boosted dps.

What relics do now is encourage people to switch realms to "follow the relics" for the extra magic/melee damage you get from extras, not from any penalty you get from having few/none of the things.



RVR is why this game still exists.PVE is everywhere and free in a growing number of great pve games.

Fact is, the relics have never had an impact on "the whole realm". They've always been "only thing affected is the folks RvRing".

There aren't many changes to the relics that could be made that would have any impact beyond "only thing affected is the folks RvRing". Other than, of course, removing all significance to them. Even changing relics to an XP bonus wouldn't do much for the people other than "only thing affected is the folks RvRing", since the people who need XP generally can't RvR, and the XP'ers who do RvR can PL just fine, with or without an XP bonus....

Rewards should have always been passive (ie. coins, experience, RPs, and BPs).

Perhaps as a compromise the claiming realm should receive a 24-hour damage buff upon claiming a relic for those who are logged in. The buffs would stack and exist in addition to permanent passive relic bonuses that would replace the relic damage bonuses. This would encourage relic warfare while not providing a persistent unfair battle advantage to the holders.

Relics are fine


There needs to be a huge RP bonus for playing in one realm to deter the Xrealming

Relics wouldnt be an issue at all if ppl would just go get them back instead of relic hopping for the bonuses.

i think only once did i ever notice i had relics on any toon, and it was my tic in molvik.

albs had all 6 relics and i was running around solo, a sneak poped on me and i meleed him down with my gimpy like 12 flex or whatever it was, and i was suprised.


it was either relics or he was terrible but looking back, i think he was just terrible. if you have compitent healers in your group, it doesnt make a huge difference. debuff assisting casteres will melt your face either way, same thing a banespike vendo zerker will 2 shot some people if their healers arent awake.
