Would appeal to me. Mordred would be fine if it had more players. A new pvp server is what we need... They should make it Classic/SI Only and restart the server once a year so everyone starts over.. Make RL's quicker to get.

This. As much as the mordred crowd likes to sprout off that open pvp was the greatest thing since sliced bread, the bottom line is, the overwhelming majority of people disagree with them.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, I just don't see how people could disagree. Seems like nobody actually has a good reason to dislike open PvP, they just say something along the lines of "Mordred is bad and so r u." Which is fine, don't get me wrong, but it'd be nice to see some actual opinions from people who played there and didn't like it.
The only evidence I've heard has been porting in combat, ganking, and shit talking. The latter two happen just as frequently on RvR servers and porting in combat is an easy fix, so I don't think a workable open PvP environment is out of the question. It shouldn't be a server, I'm opposed to any servers which further fragment the population, but I loved open PvP and I for one would love the opportunity to participate in it again. If NF gets reworked maybe they could work that in somehow. I dunno. I'd be behind that idea.

I dont think people who played on Mordred were bad, I think there were a lot of assholes there. At least that was my experience. I don't enjoy being paranoid while I level. I tried it, didn't like it. Shit like getting perfed off a horse while on a horse route "for the lulz".
The bottom line is, at the heyday of DAOC, there were only 2 PvP servers...because the majority of people don't like the implementation of mordred. If more people liked it, there would have been move servers created.

except that pvp servers are constantly being created just look at pvp shards
being able to kill somebody who is farming where you want to farm is well worth the possibility of being ganked myself
plus you can shit talk them
