Recently me and my best friend re-activated our accounts and were thinking of making a duo. What we would like are a couple classes that go real well with each other, but also in case we would like to roam in a 8-man we would be welcome as well. Right now we have a sorc/minst combo going, haven't gotten very far but it seems to go well, but I wanted yalls opinion. What would be some good Duo's from each realm? Only restrictions would be no bard, cleric, shaman, or healer, because neither of us like standing there while the other fights. Any help is greatly appreciated, and if this has been asked before, im sorry.

My opinion on what would be fun, may not be the best.

ALB: Pally/Minst (Chants, Speed, Interupts, Pet, Stun/Mez)

HIB: Warden/VW (Chants, Speed, Interupts, Stun/Snare, DPS)

MID: Thane/Skald (Chants, Speed, Interupts, Stun/Mezz, DPS)

Alot of interupts in these setups that I think wins alot of fights. I dont like casters so all melee for me.

Have you actually played any of those classes? None of them just stand there in a duo situation, mate.

Suggestions
Alb: Mini/Sorc is a great duo, as you've no doubt discovered.
Hib: For any really good Hib duo, group, whatev...I'd say you'd need a bard. A warden/vamp duo can wreck though.
Mid: Skald/Valk (Skald/Whatever really) is pretty solid.

PacHealer/RM

Eld/Druid

Sorc/Cleric

And if you have the impression that healers, bards, shamans, clerics and druids just stand there then you are bad, very very bad.

I can't speak for the OP of course, but in general the perception that support classes do nothing once the buffs are delivered is the result of a generation of players who are unable to see what a force multiplier the right support class can be while still retaining an active role. Its the result of the requirement to have a buffbot in this game - when all you see are buffbots you naturally start to assume that's the only role they can play.

For Midgard I would add Aug Healer/Any melee class as a possible combo to consider.

Sorc/Minstrel is a good duo and would fit with a full group as both are necessary.

Where do you think I got that impression? From other players, or perhaps what some people have said on this board?

But after reading what I wrote, I understand where you're coming from. I should have been more clear, and I apologize for that. What I truly meant was we both would like to fight or cast I guess you could say.

I mean you could still spec as cave shaman (If I remember correctly as their DMG Line) or a battle bard (if they are still viable nowadays) but aside from the cave shaman which I don't quite know I don't think either of these two would get a group.

To sum up my post is I realize each healer doesn't just stand there as I wrongly posted but from my friend's and mine impression of these is that neither of us would enjoy them, but that is our opinion.

Thank you all who have posted it is greatly appreciated. I think for now we will stick with our sorc/minstrel duo, thank you again for all the help.
