They will fire off reactive procs like crazy after the nerf. So they will only be good vs casters.

Hey Az , thing is they changed the DOT to a DD , that might mean that the pet hits once then vanishes , if i don`t read that doodoo wrong

Anyone else see the irony of a player accusing a developer of having some sort of god complex because they slightly toned down the weapon which is overpowered and one could even say godly in its effectivness......

It needed to happen, dont matter if you just spent a mithril, it benefits the rest of the players. They will still be basically the best weapons but hopefully the price will drop some.

Everything that's been nerfed in the game is whined about by people that strongly benefited from the overpoweredness. Hell, Zerks and SBs cried for years saying their damage pre-1.62 was "fine and balanced" and that the nerf shouldn't have happened.

While the nerf may end up being too much, it needed to happen.

And yes, I have run these weapons on two of my assassins - and while it was neat to see my weapon procs completely destroy someone, I'm happy it is getting nerfed.

I fought a RR6 thane last night on my RR5 Avalonian Merc. The thane hit my group from behind while we were fighting mobs (was trying to get ports in the lab because my merc's been on the shelf for 4 years or so). I charged at him; BoI procced twice and conflag once. He lasted 10-15 seconds and the rest of my party didn't even really react. I think the cleric might have gotten a smite in. I'm sorry, things like that just shouldnt happen. I kinda felt bad for the guy even though hitting a 6 man solo with a thane wasn't too bright. No melee or hybrid should die that fast to another melee.

Nerf is needed imo.

Even if they totally removed the procs on the weapons, the stats on the offhanders still make them useful.

Anyway it was about time they lowered the damage on them.. when the melee swings from BoI do more than you mainhand (on a light tank), you know there is something wrong..

Now let's see how much longer it will take for them to nerf necro ToA pierce cap

I'd by far wish they'd add a los check to group heals before they worry about resist pierce

I am not saying the things are overpowered, underpowered or just right. What I am saying is there has always been and unfortunately seems there will always be a total lack of respect by the developers. It's pretty simple really, at least for everyone I know that does business. You make something, put it out there then stand behind it. Dont screw some people because you messed up. Eventually it would have all evened out. High level players who care about the game and try and do the best they can would get the weapons. It is called a GOAL. Something people have tried to do ever since God made peeps. It is just so annoying that these developers can do whatever they want, whenever they want and just say, "Balance!" It has always been the way they cover their own screw-ups. Like I say, I wish I could afford to buy the company and fired these people and put some in with good common sense, and a respect for the players.
