WAR and UO are in no real shape to help out though.
But I agree that:

<<As long as they're getting a few 100k $ per month why sweat it?>>

If they only have 50k subscribers - then even if everyone is paying $15 (and they won't be) that is less than $100k. And given that the peak player population is now less than 4k then even with a x10 multiplier that is less than 50k.

I doubt that DAoC is costing much however so whether it stays open or not may well come down to external factors: EA dictating that every game must make a profit, media impact - whatever.

They dont know what they have and they dont know what to do with it. 3 realm rvr concept is just sooooo great and yet they allow the game to continually die.

Its like misplacing a lottery ticket for 5 million dollars, pure stupidity...

I'm feeling I'm just wasting my time.Nothing new on the game and not enough players to make them aggressive enough to result in big fights often enough.

Trees die.

Fish die.

People die.

And eventually, this game will die.

Today I miss DAOC a lot more then I miss WoW though.

This line blew me away. You are absolutely right. I played DAOC for about 3 years, and WoW for about 6...but I miss DAOC more.

Well even if the earth dies and company moves to another planet I think you right This game could have gone in better directions. It wasfun but got boring in the end just for the simple fact that I played it for far too long. I guess it will die coz most newcomers will think its unattractive and ugly.

Is there some kind of special math going on here? 50k subs * $15 is $750k per month. To pull in $100k gross per month it only takes 6700 subs.
