What is said in that post makes perfect sense.

The billing system was moved to EA, Mythic did not send billing information to them for security reasons.

Therefore all the accounts are not set to auto renew, THEY ARE ALREADY CANCELLED.

This is why there are no unsubscribe links.

If you choose to subscribe, I'm fairly certain an unsubscribe link will appear.

Read the entire thread. Words cannot describe how bolluxed up this has been. Here's one quote.

I do quite like that quote, and do agree the feedback to the user wasn't good enough. It should have mentioned the subscription status properly.

Just horrible. The only communication anyone received regarding _anything_ happening to the account system was a news item last week which simply said they were taking it down for several hours for maintenance. Nothing else.

And the communication or a simple heads-up for the subscriber-base? "Sub-optimal" is a far cry from "Non-existent".

I know quite a few people (including friends and guildies) who are having this problem. Threads popping up every few hrs it seems.

Between my acconts, my brothers, my wifes and my sons they are looking at around 15 accounts that will go bye-bye if they don't fix it. Not because I want to cancel them, I just can't access all of them to renew so my only option it close everything.

The lack of communication is typical of Mythic. It seems that EA/Bioware has the same challenges that Mythic had.


All customers should have been sent an email that explained any changes to the billing system. There also should be a clear explanation listed on the billing site.


The response by CS is unclear. It should have stated something like the following:


“The “cancel” button is not displayed because your account is already canceled.


To ensure the security of our customers billing information, when account information was transferred from Mythic to EA, billing information was not included in the transfer. This means that all accounts are set to run to the end of their billing cycle but will not (can not) be renewed until the customer enters their billing information into the EA database.


Because billing information was not transferred from Mythic to EA, all accounts need to be renewed by the customer. Because billing information was not transferred, all accounts are essentially “canceled” accounts until billing information is added by the customer.


There is not a “cancel” button because an account that does not have renewal information on file is essentially 'a canceled account that is running to the end of the billing cycle' and once an account is canceled the “cancel” button is no longer displayed.”

The account management interface for that site is beyond horrible.

Even figuring out what account name and/or password to use is ridiculous. So far as I can tell, I have game accounts, and at least two different kinds of EA accounts. It really shouldn't be that complicated. Instead of registering, I had to reset the password for an existing account name (that they apparently created for me, but I'd never used) before I could log in and do anything else.

still not a single word from mythic on the issue. a lot of people can't even get into their accounts now!
