Its sounds like to me that you are very rigid in where you are hunting,you want to advance in RR fast but you want to do it solo without getting running over by a zerg? I think you should rethink where you hunt and also base your hunting on whats going on on the map,camping bridges and areas where there is the likelyhood of a zerg will always get you killed and give you adds.


I have a RR3l1 Nightshade and im mostly soloing myself. Ive done well so far but its been mostly because i focus on areas either ,away from the high traffic areas,traveling areas in between high traffic areas and XP spots. So it may now be steady stream of RP but im advancing in RR,getting lots of solo fights and learning to play my class as well. It takes paitience but once you make well deserved solo kills its worth it. Especially versus a class higher in RR to you. A few days ago i found an AFK high RR troll in the Mid POC,pounced and killed him with out a fight and got over 2000 Rps. It wasnt a fair fight but then again,at my RR fair fights is the last thing i want. I see those 2000+ rp as reward for my patience.

So your idea of fixing a game based upon grouping is making it easier for solos? Read the second line of my post, please. Plenty of people find places to 1v1. The people who can't, should find something else to do.

You are missing the point. There is really nothing Mythic can do without totally ruining this game, the fault lies at the players. Its players(or should i say people) that are disrespectful and dont gives a crap about your fights. I also dont feel sorry for any stealther of any realm, there is absolute nothing wrong with your classes or the mentioned game-mechanics, simply yours and others playstyle.

Exactly. LOTS of people find 1v1's no problem. And when they get ganked, you don't see them come crying to the VN, do you, Mr. Soloistheonlythingthattakesskill.

You get more RPs for ganking people than you would solo and your risk of dying is also lower. That is part of the reason why DAOC is such a skill-less mess of button mashing, ganking and exploiting bad game mechanics.


If you solo an enemy, you might get 1,000 RPs, but if you duo a solo, you each might get 750 a piece and lower your chances of dying from 50-50, to roughly 20%.


That is why people are running 2 to 20 man stealther zergs. The game encourages you to be another skill-less ganker so you can collect risk-free RPs while you surf the net on your phone or watch mind numbing shows like the Jersey Shore.


The game has always been skill-less. This is nothing new. You just run with the zerg and overrun your enemies while mashing your IWIN buttons similar to TOA raids years ago.


You would think they could have found a way though, after all this time, to encourage people to do more than run with the zerg trying to collect useless RPs, so they can get more useless realm abilities in order to run with the zerg again. But, they have not. The least they could do is give you some survival tools against the hoarde of scrub players who choose to gank solos instead of learn how to play the game.

This is the most intelligent post I have read in years. Back in the day when I played the excellent game, Asheron's Call ( 1 ) we took posts like this for granted. Something was wrong, we got together and the devs listened and fixed it. For the life of me I can not see why the vocal majority on DAoC shouts down people saying the obvious. It would not have been tolerated on the AC boards, as the vast majority there were people who cared very much about the game, not how ignorant and backwards looking they could be. I think it must have been because Sonya and that crew made so many glaring mistakes employees or love-sick fanbois took up for the devs no matter what. I dunno, I just know that attitide has held back the greatest game ever since a few months after it came out. Well said, Divination. You will be shouted down by the mindless fanbois but it will stay the truth, so it is good for you!
