I hate for the above fertilizer to be the last word, in case someone should read this thread curious if they should come back.

Angryranger takes every opportunity to portray the game in its worst possible context, to inflict the most potential damage he can for his own amusement. So for Semi4 to then offer any sort of validity to his malicious intent was poor judgement imo.

Just to further make the point on how relevant most people on these boards consider the guy, here is a nice snippet from his latest thread:

Was there a billing fiasco? Yep. I got zinged for $1200. Mythic took care of my charges. Do I now use gamecards? Yes I do. Do I still enjoy the game? Yep.

As far as how the game is managed, some people have expectations that are too high. This game is nearly 10 years old, and has a fraction of the subs it did six years ago. Now people can debate why that is the case, but for those of us who prefer to play DAoC as opposed to VN - the game is fun.

Its also been made super easy for casual players to catch up to the pack (get into the fray quickly). Bottom line, if you enjoyed DAoC at any point, the game is more than strong enough to support our 10-server cluster, and the entertainment value is there if you enjoy DAoC's PvP. DAoC still offers a game experience that no other game has managed
to mimic. The PvE is not great, that's no secret, but it gets the job done. DAoC still has some great people playing.

Best of luck

Hey, I presented facts as a public service announcement. The game was good, no doubt.

I also hate the fertilizer spread by those who are disingenuous.

Nothing angry said, that I commented on, was untruthful. Any who say his post was untruthful are themselves being untruthful/dishonest/disingenuous.

I think it is very poor judgment to keep denigrating an accurate post and by doing so it prolongs something that many may have ignored had the dishonest just kept their mouths shut.

Nothing in the post that I commented on was inaccurate. I went over each part. The only reason I went over each part is because it totally pisses me off when others feel they need to lie in order to defend Mythic’s stupidity. Had others not lied, I would have never commented on Angreyranger’s post. It would have stood on its own.

Is the game fun for many? YES! Should the OP return to check it out? YES!

Is everything that angryranger posted, that I commented on, true? YES

Like what he posts or not, I stand by my accurate commentary concerning angryranger’s comments. Everything I posted is true.

Angryranger and I have had many heated arguments where we both ended up completely disagreeing and we both became very belligerent to each other. We often do not agree. My disagreeing with angryranger on other threads does not sway me from the truth when he posts the truth.

Denigrate him all you want but it does not change the honesty in his post on this thread.

Any that want to continue to hijack this thread with disingenuous posts, it is a free country. But I will be happy to continue to find more and more and more examples of truth that back up the short but accurate post by angryranger.

Or

You can use good judgment and let it die, like you had the option of doing a while ago. You have the option again, lets see some good judgment this time.

Person that spends 6+ years talking trash on game forums should be more than enough indication.. pity for us the warhammer forums dried up.. hence why he moved back here.

Anyways there's types like this on all forums.. best to do is to just ignore em.

It's more than 8 years, but who's counting, lol? I am stating facts about one of the most incompetent companies on earth. It would be laughable if it weren't for the fact that their ineptitude wrecked a once great game.

Ya know, I haven't played the game in years, probably 4 or more and I haven't played seriously in at least 6 years. However, in all that time I've kept up with the game by checking these forums. The only posters I know I can trust in this thread based on years of observation are Angry and Semi. While Angry and I have disagreed on many occasions because I played a caster while Angry played an archer, I do know that Angry is honest when it comes to debates as I have personally debated Angry on this very forum. And after reading an encyclopedia worth of Semi's post, he/she is terribly long winded , I know how ridiculously fair and unbiased Semi is which also speaks to his/her honesty.

You do yourself a serious disservice when you attack either of those posters in the absence of rock solid facts. You only diminish your own credibility severly.

Warning, they are horribly inept, over billing people, losing accounts, charging credit cards without permission and making it impossible to cancel without waiting on the phone for hours. Be warned.

Perhaps a more accurate statement would have been "Warning, they HAVE DONE some horribly inept things in the past, such as over billing people, losing accounts, charging credit cards without permission and making it impossible to cancel without waiting on the phone for hours. However, actions such as these are currently few are far between."

With the exception of the current billing site issue (which the 2nd poster in your OTHER thread referrenced http://vnboards.ign.com/daoc_general_board/b5176/115219685/p1/?14 ), things are still smooth-ish in most areas. Awkwardly done, I may agree. Seems to me that if you install a program, you will get a 'uninstall' button. You will not see 'uninstall' unless it is installed. With the unsubsribe deal you referrenced, it sounds like the same thing. If an account is not active, why would a 'cancel account' button show up at all?

I got dinged on my accounts during the multi-billing fiasco as well, which was NOT the direct fault of Mythic/EA/Bioware, but rather the billing company they were using. My accounts were make whole with nary a peep from me, though some people were not so lucky. Game cards are probably the safest things to use for subscription payment on ANY game, based on this incident.

Yes, I understand, but the proliferation of problems in the last 2 months at Bioware, along with their history should be fair warning. They are cavalier in how they handle your money.
