i want to roll a fire wizard.
i havnt played in a very long time.
are fire wizards still decent casters in game?helpful in pvp?
and are the class guides on this site still useful? or are they outdated?
to be honest im reading so much about the game being in such a bad state, that im worried that when i get used to playing again, its going to be shut down.
its just how my luck goes.
anyway, any opinions guys?

Don't come here to read about the state of the game. Half the people here no longer play and have nothing better to do than bash it. However, you can figure out for yourself how good the game is with the new free trial period they offer.
As for a fire wizard, it's pretty much the best pure DPS caster in the game. But if you choose a wizard, understand you can't go wrong because it is one of the few classes that can be specced in any of its lines and be really good.

ok cool, ive always liked them, ive just never felt like grinding 1 to 50. i think ill have that chance now.i appreciate the reply

Just go fire and nuke/bolt people at first. If at a later date you decide to try the other spec's you can respec pretty easy.

ok cool, that was my plan loli believe fire spec can still get an ice root right?arent there enough points left for that?or am i confusing that?i thought i remembered bolt bolt root back up DD DD

The root is baseline so you get it no matter your spec 
Imo Bolt bolt DD DD and if they are alive root DD DD
With cast speed and damage now its that fast to kill most stuffs on a fire wiz.

If you're leveling to 50, make good use of the new quests in the battlegrounds. Great xp (some of the fastest xp in game) and it gives aurulite for rewards, which you can buy armor and jewelry. And don't forget to visit your trainer in Cammy every 5 levels starting at 10 to receive your free robe and staff.
