So me and a few buddies are coming back to play and I see EA has completely taken over and made terrible choices with website design and navigation. My question is, where did that housing page go where you could check for available lots? I assume it's "under construction" like the rest of the site but I thought I'd ask here if anyone knew if it is still around and I am just slightly retarded today. Thank you for any help in advance.

Oh yeah we have played on and off since release and most recently right before the whole Ywain merge. I already have all of my characters setup where they need to be and I had a house when Ywain(s) went live. Now I am looking to get settled into a new house since my old one was repossessed. I have had to basically jump on a skald and run around housing visibly searching for an empty lot. I found one so far but someone scooped up the lot stone and has not placed a home on it yet. I was hoping to get access to that lot availability site that Mythic used to have for the player base but I doubt that will be a priority to get up and running, unfortunately. Either way thank you for the reply!

Sites been down for awhile. All you can do right now is run around housing and hope you get lucky. Hopefully they will have the site back up again some day but I do not believe it is high on their priority list.

About one month ago, the website actually worked and had a few posts from EA-Bioware-Mythic on it, but it has since stopped working. It didn't have the useful things, like lists of open housing lots and the ability to look up things like guild members, champions of the realm, etc.
Which ever company or group is in control of DAoC doesn't seem worried about this. They have commented in the past about how they currently have very limited resources - but one has to wonder why they removed the old website and replaced it with one that was broken within three weeks.
It can't be all that difficult to open the archived files and restore the old website. I am neither a web master nor a computer expert, but have worked with computers that run the Solaris operating system - which is often used host webs servers - in grad school and it isn't difficult to type "tar -zxf CamelotHeraldBackup.tar.gz" at a command prompt to restore the old Camelot Herald. And you can't tell me that the new Mythic lacks the resources to have someone spend the 1-3 hours it would take to restore the old website.

You are correct; it should not be very difficult. If they had any foresight they never would have taken the old Herald down until the new one was up to 80%-90% finished. It is as if they did not have a clue that there were important parts of the old site that were necessary (or they just did not care).
Yes the old site needed a lot of work. Yes the old site had a decade of outdated info. Yes the old housing search feature could be confusing to those who had never used it. . . .but the old housing link was the only way to easily check for available lots.
At the very least they could bring back the old housing links so that players could find (search for) vacant lots on Ywain. I would not suggest that any hold their breath while Bioware/Mythic decides what to do, that could take years.

I don't understand why they took the old site down in the first place. They replaced it with a monstrosity.
