No matter how you look at it, 50 cents per day for basically unlimited (timewise) entertainment is pretty cheap...

Sorry to hear you're struggling with money. Maybe if they increased taxes for the low-middle classes and removed social security etc you'd be better off!

Probably true. Instead in an effort to get as many poor people into DAOC as possible they will implement sub-monthly subscriptions for 5.99 a week which will not only solve our dear friend's problem but in the big picture will allow more people the DAOCian dream of account ownership at a reduced* price!

I agree that $15 might be a tad high for a game that really doesn't seem to be getting much activity from the developers or does not have any expansions or major updates in the works. And also tends to encourage users to run at least two accounts, so is even twice as expensive for many.

But I don't think cost is really going to be a deciding factor. If you like the game, then the price likely seems fair. If you don't like the game, then I'm pretty sure even if they cut the price that probably still wouldn't keep you playing.

If someone is quitting because the game is $15 and not $10, chances are they are on their way out very soon anyway.

$15/month is similar to other MMORPGs, ones which still get regular updates and aren't just lingering on life support.

If they fixed the lag issues and the lack of CSR then it would be reasonable value for money, those are the only issues which makes me question where the hell my money is going when I'm paying the monthly fee. Fix these then I'll be fairly content with the current monthly fees.

quick question... if they can't afford to pay the csr's they have now at $15.00 per sub.... how the hell are they going to manage it at $7.00 a sub?... having 2 or 3 times more active subs?
that means 2 or 3 times more csr's to deal with the gamers...

and lag? ... how the hell is 2 or 3 times as many gamers online going to help fix that?... mythic is already running some big game servers atm... in excess of 5k players max cap... which i think is far larger then anything wow has...

i guess they could sell advertising space on the login screen... 5 to 15 minutes worth of commercials before you can log into the game... that would be fun... but hey who's going to spend money on advertising for a mere 5k-20k player base?...

Mythic isn't running any servers with 5K players cap.

Billing and account support are currently down for 36 hours, which means they can't even do so much as reset passwords over the phone. Possible transition to free-to-play? Thoughts?

23 min on buff pots is crap,it would take them a few hours max to change # values,to allow them too last an hour.

Its not fun to rely on other people for buffs.

You basically need 2 accts ($30 a month) to enjoy the game. I'm not gonna get into 400 reasons why most people need a bot acct, itz a fact, the game is more enjoyable/convienant to have a 2cd acct.

I undertsand what everyone is saying and I do have the choice, that's why mythic is not getting my monies atm.

I can only play about 25 hrs a month and I won't pay $30 a month as the game stands.

This is just my situation,I'm a union worker and $$ is not the problem,I make pretty good money.

I have certain values and I live by them....

It is a discussion board and I'm discussing my situation and mabye sum otherz feel the same way.

well if you can find a better way to entertain yourself for $1.20 an hour... knock yourself out.... watching paint dry i hear is fun and cheap... same with watching grass grow....

edit: just a thought... what do you pay for your isp a month?... if your internet time is so limited (25 hours a month)... it might be a idea to call your isp and ask for a discount too based on your usage...
