Just cancelled again, this time I think for the last time. The only way I see myself coming back is if PvP comes back somehow. RvR just kind of... sucks. It's not the "present state of RvR," RvR has just always blown in comparison to PvP. Every time I log on and RvR I remember why I left for Mordred and never came back, then left the game when Mordred died: All the things that pissed me off to no end about RvRing weren't issues on Mordred, and the things that were issues on Mordred to other people were non-issues to me.

A classic style mordred server would be the only way ill be back. That would be insanely fun. No cata classes also

New classes (small expansion) granted it will never happen also lower the damn price its too high for what it is.

Its sumtimes hard to comprehend,that a business,that's in it to make money and has easy alternatives of makin that money,chooses to not to increase there profit and make there customer happy,but itz there choice...

Or perhaps they have a better picture of their finances than you do, and therefore know that doing these things won't actually increase their profit.
Note that a new server with a unique ruleset means more costs, both direct (servers aren't free, and neither is bandwidth) and indirect (you have to hire more guys to support that new server, even if you can handwave away the cost of developing the codebase that's needed. And new guys need office space, which costs money, computers, which cost money, etc, etc, etc).
If projected new revenue doesn't significantly exceed those ongoing costs, there's no new profit to be made.
EDIT: note, for reference, that it takes 300 or so new subscriptions just to pay salary for ONE new guy to maintain the new server. And it takes more than one new guy, and salaries aren't the only expense.

Unfortunately I think that anyone expecting new and shiny servers or expansions from DAOC are just going to be disapointed. The game has been in maitenance mode for quite a while now and I think we can be happy that the servers are turned on at all.
That being said I am curently playing again and have found something that is fun for me, for now. I wanted clasic servers because I really dislike TOA, not the expansion per say, the PVE was fun enough and I did the work on many characters, but the effect of all the new toys kind of ruined RvR for me. So I beat Mythic and made my own non TOA game. I play only lowbies now in RvR (i still do some PVE with the big characters). Demons Breach, Lions Den, Claret and Killaloe are unbeliveably populated and have been a lot of fun. A little bit of Thid now and then but mostly I xp off at Killaloe.
3 hours yesterday I got 52 player kills and participated in taking and defending the keep several times. Was fairly fun I I got is some decent chatting with the folks as they leveled on by.
Some folks may find it silly to do what I am doing but for me, I managed to find a bit more fun to be had from this old game.
I am sure I will get bored of it soon enough nut for now I am satisfying the need to wack small furry creatures and fight for my realm. Life is good.

My name on my characters. They are still on the old serves and my main chars name has been taken by someone else.
But then again i would not play as much as i have done in the past as my smallman group has lost its main CC due to him being a first time father. And playing smallman without a CC class(Bard/Pac/Sorc) is pointless.
And i am not sure i would want to pay for an extra account to have buffs. (Yes i can aford it but i rather spend money on other things) And casters without the best buffs is brutaly gimped.
