Record Profits!!!
Sorry but that is total BS!
I hate this silliness every time it is posted.
FYI
REVENUE does
not = PROFIT
When a company spokesperson states obscure comments about “revenue†being great, it should always send up red flags.
REVENUE does
not = PROFIT
Profit = Revenue – expenses to generate revenue.
Large increases in revenue do not necessarily = Large increases in profit.
Large increases in revenue could very well = very modest increases in (or decreased) profit.
When any company talks about revenue instead of actual profit/loss, it should always cause concern (certainly not jubilation).
Also
I am sorry to be rude and blunt but . . . . Any that think players would flock to the pile of feces called DAoC are dumber than a rock. Again, sorry for being blunt but someone needs to say it.
DAoC today is a neglected, hodgepodge of psychotic stupidity and any that think the gaming MMO world will love it just because the stupidity is given away free, they may not be dumber than a rock but they certainly lack a good footing in reality.
Free cow poop is still cow poop. It may be good for a farmer’s field as fertilizer but it is not a good thing to serve at a restaurant
Try opening a restaurant and serve “free†cow poop and see how many return customers you get.
DAoC needs about 30 dramatic/intense/comprehensive modifications to the game just to become viable again and to be great it needs about 45 to 60 things changed/fixed. Until then it is a moderately fun but tremendously neglected hodgepodge of psychosis that is only fun for a very tiny section of the MMO gaming community.
The only MMO gamers that would love what DAoC is today, they are already playing DAoC today.
There are viable ways for DAoC to be F2P and F2P can be profitable, but not with the game the way it is today. DAoC needs a lot of changes (about $15 million to $20 million in changes) before it could/would be fun for the general MMO gamer. After the game was fixed the game would be greatly profitable as a subscription game or as a F2P game.
