Personally I have an SB and a Hunter, and I like playing them, but I can understand easily how people have a hate on for them, given the number of times I get ganked by teams of assassins - and I am unable to do anything to stop it. Mostly its teams of Nightshades now of course, since they are the most OPed stealther class IMHO.
The only thing about a survey like this is that the end result is a lot more people rolling up the class that is seen as the most overpowered, so its kind of counterproductive - unless the OP was trying to figure out what to roll up as a new toon of course.
IMHO of course there is nothing wrong with nerfs to any class. Balance is achieved by adjusting values, be it positive or negative. The game has already had far too much positive improvements across the board in some areas. Look at the speed of melee combat for instance. Look at the incredible boosts from RAs and equipment. Now contemplate coming to the game as a newbie and losing every single time you play because you don't know what you need, can't afford it, and don't have the RAs to even have a chance at competing. I bet people leave in droves over that. "Fun game but if you haven't been playing it for 5 years, you are SOL" etc.
All the result of continuously improving the stats on equipment with each new expansion so that people have an incentive to buy the new expansion and get the new equipment etc.
I dont group on my assassin so you really have no arguement.
Do you use stealth? If you do he still has an argument. Every other character in the game you can see coming/that they are there, any stealth class you can not.
