I agree. The only reason this could make financial sense is if EA-Bioware-Mythic has future plans for a "free" to play version of DAoC in the works, as some type of "free" to play model of DAoC is the only way to draw in a significant amount of interest in the game.
It could become free to play if they add in like a cash shop, and you can buy items with real $ instead, and increase difficulty in order to get those items, and then they would have to make 80% of the content non tradeable and housing would go all weird, well u know the rest.
