the fighting mechanics, styles, spells, interupts, movement in daoc are what make DAOC be DAOC....

changing those and its no longer DAOC anymore, its WAR....

go play WAR for RVR with wowlike mechanics...

It is true that the combat system could use a few adjustment but in general this is a very . . . silly thread.


The combat system is not what is keeping players away from DAoC. Mostly the combat system is fine. Mythic could adjust, change, massage, tweak, twist, etc. . .the combat system and it will not draw masses to the game. There are other far more serious problems with DAoC.

The combat system is the ONLY thing atm that KEEPS people in this game.

Honestly, I have to agree, this is a silly thread.DAoC is unique and has been for quite awhile. I don't want DAoC to be too WoWish. I mean, from your screenshot in your sig, there is only a few things I would probably like..

Bigger group No thanks...That will just mean zergs will be more prepared.

Need Before Greed Rolling No Thanks. Everyone has plenty of alts. Everyone will eventually need an item. Some people now, will get good items, so they can eventually sell them and get items they actually need.

Mailing System This isn't a bad idea at all, especially when you would like to get a Spellcrafting job done and you could send a person a message and they can get it later and you could get the crafted stuff. This is one of the ideas I would push for.

The Debuffs/Buffs No Thanks. Many of us are used to the Buffs/Debuffs already the way they are. No need to switch those on us.The /BG who option? This isn't too bad of an option..BUT...showing how many people are in a group isn't a good thing, when people are trying to have small mans and someone in a different realm is like "So and so is grouped with X amount of people". This idea can be fixed, but, the way it is in your SS, nothx.


Just to list a few things I believe they need to do...

Revamp Zones: They need to revamp some of the PvE zones. Specifically SI regions. SI regions really don't get as much traffic as it once did. Maybe add a few more places to "camp" for people that don't like to go far and can just sit and kill things. Maybe like on Alb, a camp of Hib Fins that invaded Alb or something. Just give something else so others aren't fighting for the good places to level.

Additional Content I would suggest adding more content to the game, weapons/armor wise. Some people absolutely LOVE going into BG's for awhile and staying there. Make some decent low-level armor/weapons for those. Like, you'll have your Merchant in the BG's, that will give you a decent set of armor and will put you in par. But, maybe a little "extra" on the side. Nothing outrageous of course.

Crafters They need to give Crafting something else to the mix. Maybe a whole new set of Armor that isn't like Sigil or Dragonsworn. But, possibly something else that is just a little better, with possibly perma 99% quality, without having the crafter weapons. I dunno, Crafters need love too. I usually don't make posts like this, but, theres so much that can still be done with DAoC and still be one of my all time favorite games.

For all of the crap in this game and the imbalances and out of whack mechanics, the combat is still what keeps people playing.
The whole cooldown timer style that others use just isn't fun.

You really dont get it do you. The people who play daoc play it cause it's not like another crappy mmo on he market. if we wanted the garbage u ask for we would play Warhammer
