It's ok...the stats are decent and everything but...wtf bioware....cmon...I dont want to make a new toon and have him look like I started him 10 years ago.

The armor models are basic armor. Woot. The higher levels get ToA skins, which isnt bad but...damn....seriously.

imo they should have made it look like the crafted Shar/Kobold/Inconnu gear (which is kind of what aurulite gear looked like) but without the decals the aurulite gear had on it. It would look good then. But no...you look like you just bought your gear from the hand me down store. Also...the cloak skin choice is...questionable. It doesn't match anything.

For those wondering, the 'holes' in the templates they were talking about are stats and toa bonuses. You get none outside of the mythirian. And on my bard I was missing like 20+ dex and 20+ charisma. But don't worry, my con was good.

Basically, the aurulite gear looked better....

edit to add: the good thing about the armor is your resists are capped

I read your first two lines and stopped.

Your seriously complaining that the armor has the old classic armor models. Wow.

It could yeah.

Im just saying, the LEAST seen armor in this game is crafted catacombs gear. Because it doesn't offer any stat bonuses and its such high level, no point in making it. They could have at least brought some of the designs back with this, not that hard...they already exist. It would look cool, and provide some variety. ToA skins are already on higher end crafted gear which is used a lot. And the basic armor already looks like the low level crafted gear.

it's not a big deal, but it's just something I would like to see. The catacombs armor models look great, but you never see them.

Old armor isn't half bad actually. That way every character doesn't look identical.

I'm hoping some of the jewelry items make it that much easier to template.

Except, every templated character and every BP geared character, for say thidranki, will look identical.

Everyone would look identical anyway because most people will have this gear or crafted.

And I'm not complaining that the armor has the old models per se, but I'm complaining that:

From the Herald posted:

There’s a lot of thought and planning that has gone into these items and the effect they will have on the game, and I am extremely excited to see how the battlegrounds pick up as a result of these new items. I’m looking forward to seeing you all in the battlegrounds!

There was a lot of effort put into these items. The stats are excellent don't get me wrong, but I'm just saying they could have looked a little better. You are putting in some effort to get the bps for the gear, I just think it should look nice thats all. And its not like it would take long to change or to have implemented to begin with. The armor skins are already there, and they are skins that you will NEVER see outside of someone wearing it for the hell of it.

I dunno maybe they wanted gear that looked crafted so that it was harder to tell who's templated and who's not.

Not entirely true. People with the same armor will look the same, but it wont be like with aurulite where you can't tell the difference between a Norse with a 2hd axe being a SB or warrior.

I hate how when ToA came out and then with aurulite it started to use the same model for armor, regardless if it was cloth or plate.

I agree that something should be done to spice it up, but we have so many options between aurulite/sigil/dragonsworn/dropped fancy looking stuff; something more on the simple side can be nice.
