Windows 7 and DAoC |
I just upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 and DAoC will not start.
I'm wondering if anyone else had this problem, where I can enter my login,password,pick the server.. and after the first loading screen DAoC crashes to desktop. I have 3gig RAM, all drivers are updated.
Had anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you go about fixing it?
If all fails I'll go back to windows xp.

Called Mythic tech support, on hold for 30 minutes only to have a tech pick up, say "Hello".. and have their end dissconnect me 
I thought windows 7 came with Direct X 11 .. Do I need a different version? Hmm On hold trying to talk to a tech now

Hmp... still on hold, trying to find a way to uninstall Directx11 and install Directx9

Windows 7 does come with Directx 11, but you may need to install the Directx 9 updates. You can't uninstall DX11.

Windows 7 is the most user UN friendly version out yet! I had to go into program files (x86) and locate the daoc.exe file and set it to run as admin, but had to do it through properties not through the main menu.

We have had this pc about 4 months and I have not had a problem with Daoc after install, though the computer came with windows 7 if that makes a difference.
I just down loaded dark age online and runs fine.

I was running as admin.
However, after being on hold with EA tech support for over an hour I threw in the towel and reinstalled windows XP :[ ended up trading registration keys with a friend that wanted windows 7.
For me.. I love how easy XP was, and now I can game .
