i dont think your personal opinions on what is 'good' or 'bad' (rvr in laby vs rvr in NF) is a viable argument against fixing a broken mechanic.

reduced realm points after death were implemented based on the assumption that people generally have resurrection sickness after they die. being less effective means you should be easier to kill, and should not be worth as much. when you are not res sick, your effectiveness is not reduced, so you should not be worth reduced realm points. i agree with tying rps to active res sickness.

Tie it to the rez sick debuff, to hell with PR. No rez sick= full rp's, rez sick= reduced rp's. Seems easy enough.



It still doesn't sit well with me. Heck, even a 1 minute timer for reduced RPs after a PR would suffice, since it's long enough for someone to die right away after being PR'ed, or to get healed and for the fight to be vastly different. 1 minute means that a player couldn't try to abuse it or something to be worth less RPs when heading back into Labby or NF after a rebuff.

If they boosted RUT on the cure res sick to 10 min, RP farming wouldn't be an issue

People would have to wait out the 3 min rez sick or 10 mins again to cure it...

PR is the only issue but it's like Carl said, maybe pigpen type flies and stuff around a rez sick/reduced target would help

I wish this was the biggest issue with DAOC. RPs are already too easy to get, this is just another way of making it easier. Rezz sick is fine as is. I don't want them changing the game anymore to make those who only care about rps happy, play the game for the challenge of beating others and to have fun instead of watching the rp meter.

hes got a point tho someone who is killed recently can put up a hell of a fight yet you receive reduced rps

maybe make it so solos can get full rps but people who zerg recently killed people dont



Yea becuse that would not remove the sole purpose of the reduced rp from the begining?

it's not a matter of 'watching the rp meter'. its a matter of fairness. should this person who is not res sick have and is not less effective have the opportunity to get my full rps value... when i don't have the opportunity to get theirs?

It is about the RP's, else RP's wouldn't be mentioned.

I find it funny that opposing forces regularly throw themselves at each other, it simply becomes a RP exchange


edit: also the rezz sickness applies to all classes/realms so its fair/balanced

fair/balanced on a realm vs realm basis is not the concern. the concern is on a player vs player basis. 'balance' when referring to realms or classes is generally subjective. this is an objective complaint: people who do not have res sick, should not be worth less realm points. it has nothing to do with balance, and everything to do with fixing a broken rewards system.

this and yes, needs adjustment imo. a reduction in both timers or something or just revamp it somehow.
